How good a coach was Billy Donovan? They were fun to watch.
Before Donovan Florida had made the NCAA tourney FIVE times total...total. They won two titles. He did for Florida basketball what spurrier did for their football and took a program that NOBODY thought could ever be a national player.
Look at Florida's bball program before and after Donovan. He won two titles at freaking Florida. He is one of the greatest college coaches ever and not sure he gets mentioned as such.

Corey Brewer is a class act. Much respect.

I personally know several people who took their sons to Donovans basketball camp and raved about the experience with him....he is a great teacher and motivator.

Florida had some great teams under Donovan. The 05 and 06 championship teams had Noah, Brewer, Horford, and Speights. All of which went on to have successful careers in the NBA

It was pretty amazing how sad they were when they declared for the draft. They were a special group.

Not sure why he deans get the respect that other coaches get from the media but the NBA likes him to give him multiple job offers. I don't think his heart was in the game after he signed with Orlando and then backed out. That was a special team that won back to back championships. So many good players that played as a team.

They really loved their time at UF: LINK

They came back, minus Green and Moss, for the Kentucky game and were the Honorary 2 Bits: LINK.

Being in school for the basketball and football championships was one of the most fun experiences ever. I'll never forget University Ave after the championship games. Everyone drunk and happy, people on the roofs of Midtown bars, on the greased-up lamp posts, synchronized sloppy Gator chants, buying each other beers, and just partying.
