Lighten up, Francis. It's a joke, not a dick. Don't take it so hard.

Why did this make you so mad? Nobody is making fun of natural disasters.

What makes me so mad? If this Op-azz's post about a tropical storm and SEC sports is not making fun of a reaction to natural disasters... then WTF is it?

I live in New Orleans and went through Katrina, evacuated to Gainesville Florida, on the road, no gas, no idea where to stay, returned to an empty wrecked city...The destruction and desolation was far worse than the worst destruction in Kontum city RVN, during the TET offensive in 1968...which I witnessed and participated in.

I went to college after Vietnam in Tuscaloosa, got married there. My in-laws were only a few yards from being made history by the tornado.

Fricks who live in the heartland, or wherever they are not directly in the path of a potential disaster, think hurricanes, or tornados, or maybe earthquakes or tsunamis, are just news events. I will NEVER think that and I have no patience with LSU people who attacked Florida over concern about a cat-4 hurricane, or anyone who makes fun of the potential for human catastrophe. Damn it... you go try to survive in a city blown up by war, or flooded, or with all the EMT services mobilized, or no electricity, no food stores, no gasoline, etc. You live on National Guard distributed MREs and bottled water and ice for weeks on end.

It isn't damn funny... it wasn't funny when LSU fans made fun of Florida. It wasn't funny when others laughed smarmily at Louisiana for hurricanes Katrina or Rita. And it wasn't funny what happened to Tuscaloosa.

Time for some people to get a little perspective on their trolling.... And yes... this OP azz had no dog in the hunt on the issues last fall between LSU and Fla...so my suggestion to him was "STFU." It is good advice.

I laughed with I saw this was posted by someone from Alabama. Before we were members of the SEC we had a game scheduled with Alabama. There was a hurricane in the Gulf, that eventually hit Florida.

Bill Curry's QB was injured so he cancelled the game because he felt it was unsafe for his team.

Game day it was a beautiful day and no rain within 200 miles. Many Alabama fans drove to College Station only to turn around and go home.

Probably one of the more chicken moves in NCAA football.

OP needs to think before he posts.

JackNola holy shite?! I was on duty during Katrina and damn near bought it about 10 times, lost everything I owned but re built my life thanks to insane OT. You need to laugh at some things to deal with it, I have to everyday. Oh wait.....you are an Alabama fan from NOLA. I apologize I don't converse with people like you.

I suspect you would be laughing if this was directed at LSU.

Chill, dude. Even Finebaum of all people took LSU's side in the dispute because UF's Foley wasn't open to any contingency plans. Every other game in the region (except one between two small colleges) had contingency plans in place.

Bama itself even had a dispute with A&M one year over playing a game when a hurricane didn't strike.

The whole footprint of the SEC is vulnerable to hurricanes and/or tornados. We all know this, and many of us (including myself) have suffered damages from such events. I fully agree that this thread wasn't necessary and should be whacked, but then again, we shouldn't burst a gasket over it either. Let it go, man...

Wrong. It is not my problem if some LSU fans cannot stand for anyone saying "the LSU DL and front 7 next year is a huge question mark." My friend, that is not insulting LSU, though some fans take it to be an attack.

I never make fun of the LSU team or players (fans? that is a different story) ... I follow LSU football ... and probably know as much about LSU football as most people. More importantly, I never laugh at anything that is tragic.

Oh... and a LOT of people in New Orleans went to Alabama...

We all come to this forum to get a laugh. We don't have to be so serious about everything.

but outside of this forum, if you are in the path of this storm, you should take every precaution to protect yourself and family. I live in Houston and I go overboard in my preparation. Working in emergency management and removing dead people will do that.

Don't worry about him, he just wants to pen that guy as an alter of an LSU poster. It's his shtick.

Would have been funnier if it was a jab at LSU, since they were the bitches that demanded the game be moved to their stadium and then got shite canned.

Ditto. I rarely even visit the Bama board. There's really no need with all the Bama/Saban threads that hit this board.
