Probably has more to do with LSU feeling like Chavis didn't completely fulfill his contracted duties to the very end. Example: being on the phone with A&M the day of our bowl game. If he wouldn't have left in such a shitty, dick head way, we settle with A&M, IMO.
Oh yeah, this is definitely a pissing match. Both schools just raked in a cool $30 million from the SECN. Anyone that thinks it's about money is a fool or a troll..... or both.

I wasn't talking about employment in general, I am talking about in the field of college football coaches. Often when buyouts aren't clear it doesn't go to court in this field. Programs settle.
Rich Rod, Donald Brown, Mike Leach, Kennedy Pola, among others. Mark Mangino settled pre-suit his $9 million claim pre-suit, but rest assured, he would have sued Kansas if they didn't pay him.

My prediction is if the Texas court dismisses for want of jurisdiction, Chavis will settle before the season (I'm sure that means A&M will pay the buyout amount).

I don't care, neither school is hurting for dollars
Just funny to watch the legal saga unfold.

All I know is that Chief definately quit before the Notre Dame game and last 2 minutes of every Bama game. He should refund the money for all of that too

If I were Chavis' agent I'd be pretty PO'd that they didn't have TAMU take care of the legal wrangling. Then again, whose to say TAMU isn't paying his legal bills anyway.
Oh and Jill Craft handles notorious "allegations," of wrongdoing in Baton Rouge. I'd reference her skill set a little less eloquently than was done so earlier in this thread, but she loves to settle almost as much as Lt. Caffey before he got the Willie Santiago case in A Few Good Men.
I'm also guessing that most in this thread have never seen how..."resplendently"...she tends to dress.

What's funny is all of the people who show up to tell people no one ever sues on employment contracts. I really enjoy how everyone on the SECr becomes Roger Cossack because Chavis breached his contract.

When he officially quit
You cant just make up a "2 month notice" then start working for the other side immediately. There are pictures of the guy at aTm working in January, on payroll or not he was working for someone else. He has absolutely no base and has no chance to win this. He breached the contract terms and now has to pay up. This works the same anywhere.
aTm absolutely is screwing him over and not only will have to pay the $400k but the legal fees as well. Great way to start your marriage

TAMU is paying the bill
TAMU legal can't represent him on this

What is your evidence of him "working"? Wearing an A&M polo?

I'm sure it was all just a misunderstanding.

Did you think people thought Jill Craft was in the A&M legal department?

The evidence will be put forth in court should that formality be necessary. Stay tuned, and you will see. Given your obsession with the scant possibility of beating LSU in football, I know you will follow it with bated breath.

Are you a Lousiana attorney?
See, I'm a TX employment attorney and under our law he has pretty good ground to stand on...

I hope this is the defense he takes in court. It'll work out wonderfully.
Cant believe aTm was this retarded on this. It's 2015, everything is out in the open. The ole "put in a several month notice" then start working somehwere else "off payroll" isnt exactly going to win anyone over in court on a breech of contract dispute.

It's going to be real hard to explain representing company B while you're still supposedly employed by company A.
