This guy really got fricked. He should be allowed to transfer IMO. Ole Miss's administrative error has already been appealed and denied. Did Ole Miss seriously think that the NCAA would be nice and approve anything....after all the shite thats going on right now? This is basically a de facto scholly reduction.

Ole Miss should have taken him out to a nice candlelit dinner before they fricked him like that.

I'm sure we got a booster that can arrange that

So what exactly was the administrative error? Freeze forget to schedule a body double for a test?

Yeah, that really stinks for the kid. I'm sure the advisor/counselor that messed up is also in hot water (or fired) as well.

He doesn't lose a year of eligibility or anything does he? I assume he's still on scholarship and can practice/hang out with the team, or is that wrong also.

I imagine that soon enough there will be ACTUAL schollie reductions. And a lot of them.

I don't have a clue...but I'm really pissed at Ole Miss right now. I guess when it rains its pours. If I were him I would transfer because next year is when shite hits the fan.

After three years in school, he had less than 60% of the credits required to earn his degree.

When "shite hits the fan" -- what all exactly does that entail? A show cause is a pipe dream and the possibility of a bowl ban is minuscule. I'm hearing 16 over 4. While not a minor slap on the wrist, it's most certainly survivable

That's kind of a big oversight

That's on both the advisor AND the student. Sounds like the advisor wasn't paying attention and the student was failing classes or doing so poorly that he had to withdraw from a high number. Hard to have less than 60% of a degree complete after 6 full semesters of school plus Summers.

ETA: Also on the Ole Miss Athletic admins. Most power 5 schools have an eligibility officer of some kind (usually a part of the compliance department) that goes through and double checks before each semester to insure that minimum requirements are being met for each guy. If he was ruled ineligible, it means that someone wasn't paying attention for at least a year prior.

I am just being pessimistic and expect the worst for Ole Miss. I think we'll get more than scholly reductions because the NCAA is going to make an example out of the racist school that everyone hates. If Alabama or LSU had the same circumstances.....they would get a slap on the wrist because their brand and markets are so important for college football.

It just seems like every other week there is something that Ole Miss does that just blows my mind. These WAOM moments are taking its toll on me.

LSU recruits a talent rich state plush wth athletes as the only major university where kids grow up dreaming to play in death valley and has been that way since I was born

bama recruits at a national level so large it recruits itself. come play with best of the best win a ring and great % chance to be an NFL guy. been that way through out the history of the program .

ole miss rises from the ashes signs guys from coast to coast who heretofore have never stepped foot on campus and fall in love with that beautiful stack of paper... I mean patch of grass called the grove.

one of these is unlike the others.

similar circumstances are impossible
