Has to be one of few "average" coaches to both win the SEC and get CoTY at multiple schools.

Only because Ole Miss lent a hand.

His career win percentage isn't even in the top third of the league. I'm not sure what you would consider average, but middle third is just that to most people.

So why are people resorting to calling him an average coach
because he is

and why does it matter what he did in years before?

because a coach's value is determined by their body of work, not one season

They don't call the award Coach of his body of work. They call it Coach of the Year.

Started in 18 / 50 games. I'm not arguing what year he is in. He's not some battle tested veteran.

Yeah he's 10th on the team in ABs. Under 80 AB's, top 9 have 160+.

And? They played JC ball last year. They are new.

Um, Coach of the Year is just what the award says, Coach of the Year. Not fricking body of work. Jesus.

You made it about body of work. That's not what it was about.

I didn't make it about anything. I participated in a discussion that had already begun. So, again, I welcome you to the conversation

Let me tell you something about LSU fans since I personally know a good many of them. They build up their team up beyond belief. When reality sets in, they want to fire everyone from the janitor to the governor. When they feel threatened, they want to downgrade everything that you have to make themselves feel better. Its rewind and repeat every year. I promise you by september, they will be calling for Les Miles to be fired.

Nah, they will pump him up until late October then they will all be saying - I told you we should have fired him last year.
