"The University of Alabama placed 78 student-athletes on the 2016 Fall Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll, the conference office announced this week.
A total of 35 members of Alabama's 2016 SEC champion football team earned a place on the honor roll. Among those earning the academic accolade were starters O.J. Howard, JK Scott, Tony Brown, Cole Mazza, Hale Hentges and Ross Pierschbacher. The Tide's total ranked second among the 14 SEC football squads, just behind Arkansas."

Obviously. You can place an orange on a banana board and still get an A+ at Alabama.
But being Alabama, they know to make it believable so they want to finish 2nd or even 3rd. Admirable but not too lofty. Well played, Alabama.

I know I shouldn't have to ask this, but you do realize skits on SNL are for comedic purposes and do not reflect actual events?

I'll respond with my own question:
Do you realize that I just utilized the material in the skit and even embellished it with the idea of sneaky Alabama plotting to make a joke, right? I thought that would be funnier to others reading the thread than a simple "Oh, that was pretty funny."
tl;dr - Yes. I am cognizant of the premise behind Saturday Night Live, comedy in general, and I'm also totally familiar with the definition of the word "skit."
