what about this news story makes him look like a clown?

Why was Foley dragging his feet when every other school was making contingencies and having their games re-scheduled for later that weekend?
Why was the game at Florida the only one that caused so much fuss?

The SEC home home office didn't even know of the "rule", which is actually just an interpretation. Get the frick out of here with defending the Gumps running the SEC.

If Alleva is arguing that Florida would want to avoid playing the LSU game so they could back door into Atlanta, then yes, it makes him look like a clown. LSU's AD should be aware of the rule requiring that any SECCG participant must play all their scheduled conference games.

Literally EVERY other team had their contingencies in place before the storm even got there.
What was Foley's excuse? Why was Florida the only school that couldn't figure something out?

But I love him because he masterfully saved his job with this stunt and will be at LSU for many years to come.

The game should have and could have been played on Sunday, just like South Carolina vs Georgia. Chickenshit!!

Nobody heard of this rule. All the talk was how Tennessee was going to get screwed if the game didn't happen. They waited for Tennessee to lose to A&M and Bama, then pointed out that there was a hidden rule in a double secert SEC commishioner's emergency save face rule book. He wanted to force a game to happen.

Alleva dick slapped Foley and the SEC Front office.
UF fought HARD to keep from playing the game.
I guarantee you Foley would have been more accommodating.

SEC rules mandate that it would be impossible for Florida to "backdoor" into Atlanta
Whose to say they wouldn't have tried to get an exemption at best, or a worst force LSU into giving up a home game and going back there in November. Every other school in the state of Florida had contingency plans. UF didn't, why?
The SEC is supposed to be the crown jewel of conferences.
What Foley and Sankey did was bush league, and every other school in the Conference should be angry at how those two embarrassed the SEC.
