Florida was scared to play, thought they could sneak into sec championship til LSU forced Sankey's hand.

Plan backfired.

So they were pissed that the SEC sat on their arse while Foley drove the situation right where he wanted it? Imagine that. Who gives a damn? We were all pissed too.

Just for the record, I don't buy into UF ducking the game. The only thing that really makes sense is that Foley wanted to maintain control. The game was going to be in Gainesville on his terms, or it wouldn't happen (oops). He slow played EVERYONE until most options were off the table. He used the media to push his narrative ("game happening Sat in Gainesville"). It went EXACTLY like he wanted it to that first week. It was a business decision, pure and simple.

Unfortunately for him, once the game wasn't played that weekend, he lost the upper hand and Alleva beat him at his own game. He and Sankey can cry all they want, but they created a situation that gave Alleva the upper hand after they both blew him off the week before. How did they expect that to work out?

I don't get why more of you can't understand this. ADs don't get paid to give away money and help out the other guy. They are paid to put their school first always, no matter what. Alleva did that. He did it in the USC situation last year too. He was just able to help them out as well in the process. Do you idiots expect us to be mad at Joe Alleva for working the situation to our school's benefit (i.e. His frickING JOB)?

Bottom line- It was Sankey's job to reel them in and he let them both run the show. If this had happened on Slive's watch, you can bet you arse it would have gone down very differently.

I didn't follow this whole saga. But was LSU going to forfeit if the game wasn't played in Baton Rouge?

I'm no fan of Alleva, but we're having a home game on 11/19 and the Gators are not. Seems like you may need to direct your anger at Foley

Alleva offered to play in Gainesville the original game week. He also said they would play on a couple of other dates that would require other moves. He dug in on giving up the 11/19 home game, and he won on that point. Any other version is just sour grapes.
