What's up with that kid? He plays one play a game and now he's totally MIA. What is "the plan" for him?

To make you question his whereabouts.

The plan was for him to be game-ready in case of a Nick Marshall injury (which is why he started one game), and he will eventually take over as the starting quarterback when Nick Marshall graduates, or if an injury was to occur.

He has also played in more than one game.

Backup. He started one game when the starter was out.

I'd send him out first play for the NC game (both him and NM, who would line up a WR), and let him bomb it.

He's playing backup QB in the NCG, not a terrible place to be for an 18/19 year old.

Dont question Gus. He is the best coach in football. He wins games running 3 plays. Deal with it.

We gave him a chance to start one game. He didn't wow everyone enough to take the job from the older more experienced QB so you can expect we'll be processing him soon.

Or he's filling his role as back up qb. your choice.

I'm an AU undergrad. My family literally prays during the IB for a win -- I'm not just talking about the beginning of the game. I'm talking each and every play.

That's what I thought also; except now I'm 100 percent sure that's why AU won.

Eh whatever. I pray during football games too, DWI.

That said, I recognize it is an insignificant thing to pray about, and I don't actually pray "God let us win"

Still think Auburn's a year ahead of schedule. When he takes over then you'll see the "best team under Gus" imo.

he's the incumbent after Marshall. No doubt.

They wanted to get JJ in the games a little bit in case Nick Marshall got injured. Given NM's style of play, it was wise to have JJ ready.

I could see JJ redshirting next year if NM doesn't get hurt at all.
