Add in that of the 77 and 103 tackles, Jarvis has 47 solo while Te'o has 52 solo.

Definitely Te'o. Jones is a beast but he's a one dimensional player. Te'o is a stud.

Yea but Te'o has such great leadership qualities and other intangibles that puts him out of Jones' league.

Clearly, he is the most outstanding player in college football, and people aren't simply looking for reasons/excuses for awarding the Heisman to a ND player with an inspirational story.

I understand thinking Te'o is overhyped, and I understand why someone would want Jones over Te'o. But Te'o is still a beast, and being a media darling doesn't change that. He was a 5 star long before he ever committed to Notre Dame. He's had an extremely impressive career, and is an extremely well rounded player who can pretty much do it all at the college level. Jones is an elite pass rusher, a supreme athlete, and a great nfl prospect, but he's a liability in coverage and against the run at this point in his career. I'd take Jarvis on Bama in a heartbeat, don't get me wrong, but if asked to choose who I'd take between these two at the college level, gotta go with Te'o, and that has nothing to do with all of the media hype.

Jones, but there is alot to be said for the mental aspect of having that team leader if all the hype is to be believed.

I don't know that I believe all the propaganda about Teo, but taken at face value I would give it careful consideration even though Jones has far and away better stats. A true team leader gets a bit of credit for every teammate's stats in my mind.

Apples to oranges. They are asked to do two different things. Jarvis is asked to completely take over games. Teo is asked to gang tackle and make interceptions off of tips.

Depends on my team. But to answer the question, Jarvis Jones....hands down

Te'O is a solid sure tackler, but there are a bunch of LB who can tackle. JJ is a hybrid freak who wreaks havoc all over the field. Hard to come across guys who can make huge, game changing plays all the time. Dude can tackle, force fumbles, get in the backfield, defend, and has great speed. He's also more diverse because of how well he can line-up as a DE and frick shite up in the backfield.

Yea, I agree that Te'o is an outstanding player, and there is something to be said for the impact his leadership and personality have on his teammates and what not. It just seems to me that his Heisman candidacy is fueled as much by his story/program than his on-field performance, especially when compared to the other two candidates, so I was ranting lol.

As far as Jones versus Te'o, I'll still say Jones because I like his ability to create turnovers, both by forcing fumbles and pressuring QBs into bad decisions.

They don't play the same way, and are utilized totally different. Te'o would be successful in the SEC as well. He is the real deal, but not the best player in college football.

I don't disagree with any of that. For the record, I think Te'o's Heisman candidacy is a joke. I just think he's still a great player in spite of that. Jones is as well.
