This question is directed at Bama fans or anyone that actually watched them all year and knows what they are talking about.

1) what did each player bring to the table last year and what were their strengths and weaknesses?

2) Who do you all believe is the better NFL draft prospect?... considering they are so close to each other in the pre-draft rankings.

I second this question. I'm hoping the Saints take one or the other. Either one paired with Cam Jordan would be deadly and greatly improve the D-Line.

Toss up. Both have elite athleticism and strength.

Ouch. Man, I'm not 100% sure on that. To me, Robinson seemed better beating his man and getting behind the line, while Reed was better stuffing the run at the line. Both were good at the other as well, so there's no "bad" option.

Personally? Robinson, by a hair. Both incredible and basically NFL-ready physically.

They both have similar skill sets and roles last year. Both played DE and DT and did great job of taking on double teams. Robinson is more athletic and better pass rusher of the two but I'd say Reed is still better overall. PFF actually graded Reed as much higher than AR.

Depends on the system and team need. Reed is probably the best or near the best pure run stuffer in the draft. He pushes the pocket well. He isn't going to make pro bowls most likely. A Shawn is a similar player, just not quite as consistent as Reed. A higher ceiling. Both players will be spending a large part of their time as interior players. Reed will likely develop into more of a NG type of player no matter the system. I think Ashwan has a quicker twitch so he has more scheme versatility.

Heard a scout that had the best breakdown. Reed is the more technically sound while A'shawn is off the charts with measurables.

A'shawn has better measurables, slightly quicker twitch. A little more high end potential due to his versatility. Great inside stuffing the run obviously, but also enough twitch to play a bit more end.

Reed had better on field production. Might be the best run stuffer I've seen in college tbh. Just an immovable object in there. Very skilled at holding his position but also at getting off blocks and making tackles in the hole.

Can't really go wrong with either in my view, but I see A'shawn having a bit more high end potential at the next level. Athletically, he is the prototype. That said, I was always a bit more of a Reed man myself. That guy is just a fricking football player. He was unblockable and seemed to make an inordinate amount of tackles at the line for a Saban lineman.

Both legends who will live forever in T-Town.

In 2014, Reed had like 10 tackles against LSU. Both had dominant moments against teams. It's a toss up. I think Robinson played better at a lighter weight this year and Reed at a heavier weight last year.

So from what I'm getting, Reed possibly could be that 3-4 block eating NT?

From what I have heard is that Reed is good, but he benefited a lot from playing in that front 7.

I think Reed projects better as a 0 or 1 technique, while Robinson projects better as a 3.

Robinson is better for jumping the center and blocking extra points...

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

More upside, take Robinson.
More polished, take Reed.

I think Reed is close to maxing out on his ceiling, he's very good and what he does and can line up anywhere on an odd front. You get a sure thing to plug in.

I don't think Robinson is anywhere near his, I think Reed has been more consistent. Athletically he outpaces Reed and could be a monster, but I never saw the complete picture. Playing NG in 2014 did him no favors statistically, but I think his best days are in the NFL. His best is better than Reed's, you just didn't see it 100% of the time.

Just depends on how long you have to wait. Robinson could end up being an All Pro after 3-4 years. Reed probably starts his entire rookie contract, and you decide what to do after that.

Both physically strong if I want pressure up the middle Ashawn if I want someone to occupy the middle of the line and tie up blocks Jarran. Ashawn is more athletic to me and both are big and strong.

If A'Shawn is still on the board, Saints have to take him. If not, might consider other positions.

Reed did get the angle and caught Watson from behind on that 2 pt try and threw him to the ground like a rag doll while knocking the ball loose. That was impressive.

I remember vs UGA when he took down Chubb with one hand while pushing back the Center with the other hand.
