How many are old enough to remember Jared Lorenzen? Dude was like a OT playing QB and could move like a tailback.

Hal Mumme was the coach at Ky (Has a weekly radio show here) and people thought he was crazy putting that dude out there as a QB.

That guy was a monster and when he ran he bowled over people. I swear, not sure how big he was but he had to be 6/6 /300 lbs or more.

The greatest big man I ever saw for his size (dad took me to game) run like a damn deer.

Pretty much everybody who isn't still in college Id guess

Maybe when Lorenzen was a freshmen. But Guy Morris and Rich Brooks were 100% HCs at Kentucky with Lorenzen as their starter... that would be crazy for 1 QB to start for 3 different HCs, but I think Morris was only there 2 seasons so maybe if Lorenzen started all 4 years

I remember Brooks lining him up as a receiver for Shane Boyd.

I do wonder how he would've faired if he had consistency at HC and wasn't there in the middle of that scandal. He had a hell of a cannon for an arm and moved better than some guys half his size.

Jared was a great QB, and amazingly nimble for his size.

I posted on here last week, he's going on a weight loss journey. He's over 500 lbs.

Right now, he'd make two Pillsbury Dough Boys (of the pre-weight loss variety). He said he hadn't stepped on a scale in eight years. (Scales all over Kentucky breathed sighs of relief.)

The early 00s had some SEC QBs that were a lot of fun to watch.

Lorenzen, Matt Jones, the David Greene/DJ Shockley combo, Chris Leak, Eli Manning, Jason Campbell. There were a lot of memorable guys, obviously some better than others, but many were fun to watch.

Love Jared. The guy is great. Hes part of a Kentucky football podcast here and to say he keeps it real is an understatement. His 7 overtime game against Arkansas was legendary.Didnt think he had 7 OTs in him.

If you've got Hal Mumme on the air down there be sure to ask him about the Gary DiNardo hotdog story.

If we're just throwing out Lorenzen nicknames here then I'll enter "The Round Mound of Touchdown".

Hefty Lefty

He's still tearing it up in the AFL.
Can't believe Stephen A. Smith hasn't been griping that a NFL team hasn't signed Lorenzen with all his natural talent.

That 7ot game was one of the best I've ever seen. He and Matt Jones were locked in a legit duel. At one point he turned and yelled at the fans for leaving and said that the thing was far from over. That was in the first overtime if I recall. He was right. That game went on and on and on. What a damn game!

It seems there are a few Lorenzen posts every off season. Big ol' boy who could sling it. He lived every offensive lineman's dream.

I believe I read recently that he's starting a weight loss project. Happy that he's trying to make some healthy choices.
