Better pray Johnny can stay healthy.

Can't this be said about every starting QB? Anyways we have some good guys behind him so it's not as if we are screwed.

Showers is definitely a solid QB. I'm betting he ends up at Baylor.

There is a very good reason Manziel was only given the starting job right before the season started. Showers is the real deal but is a pocket passer. The coaches thought with the speed of SEC defenses that it was smarter to go with a qb that cold run if needed. That is how Manziel won the job. Showers has a much better arm and is smart. He will do great for the team smart enough to sign him.

I wouldnt mind him at LSU to possibly start in 2014 over 2 redshirt freshmen and I have zero faith in Rivers.

You SEC teams with shite QB's would be wise to get him. The guy is very good.

Would be VERY interesting if he went to an SEC school. Remember, he was the favorite to win the starting job, this year over Manziel.

The SEC no longer allows graduate transfers. He is not going to transfer to an SEC school.

What is this "better arm" garbage?

Manziel led the league in completion pct, and was fourth (4th) in yards per completion. What -- did he not overthrow his receiver by 25 yards often enough?

Showers has a stronger arm and throws a much prettier pass than Manziel but Manziel is freakishly accurate. There is good reason why Showers was the assumed starter until Johnny exploded. He also is big and can run, though he is a natural pocket passer.

He can't go to another SEC school though without losing eligibility so that defeats the purpose. Besides, he is an ideal fit for any Air Raid team that needs a starting QB. He knows the system and has been coached by Sumlin and Kingsbury. Baylor makes sense as he is from right down the road. Tech makes sense so he can go with Kingsbury. Cal makes sense with Dykes taking over and he can get a really valuable grad degree. He could look at West Virginia or Oklahoma State I suppose.

If I were him, I would go to Cal. They just got Sonny Dykes as a coach, so you know they are going to throw the ball everywhere. And Berkeley > Waco & Lubbock

Easy Choice to me.

I mean, I am not from Texas or California but I would take chicks from Berkeley over chicks from Lubbock.

Thats just me though...

The Trickydick truth about J Showers. Showers has some stank behind his throws. However his current issues are staring down receivers, over throwing wr's, accuracy with long passes, and bad decsions. All of which are correctable with game time and more snaps. So he's a better deal than most.

You do realize this means you think that Berkeley is inferior to Waco & Lubbock, right?
