In a shocking turn of events, TA was secretly DJ Welter all along!
Don't let them say mean things about you buddy
Seriously, Welter was our Jake Holland. Jennings was bad, but the defense actually played much better after Welter was benched.

Ryan Baker started 13/14 games.
Stefan Francois started 10/14.
Kevin Minter started 11/14 games.

Again, I'm not saying Welter was even above average. I'm merely stating that he was not as bad as y'all want him made out to be, certainly not the worst player on the LSU squad in 2014.
I'd put him right down there with Jennings. He was absolutely miserable. Easily the worst LB at LSU I can remember, but somehow he kept playing for some weird reason.

Yeah, because two people split time there. Guess how many solo tackles they had together? 44. Again, I actually watch the games so I'm at a distinct advantage in this argument. Just trust me.
Seriously, it was painful watching Welter the last 2 years. One of those players when in isolation to make a play you just knew he wouldn't.

Minter was splitting snaps that year, hence why he only started 11 of the 14 games, and probably only got about 60% of snaps each game.

You are dutifully reproducing the participation report, but the problem is Les during his tenure has repeatedly announced players as starters and they hardly played, or in some cases like Ryan Baker's, they didn't play, yet still appeared on the participation report. I'm not sure what the point of doing that is, but he is very strange about it.
This is a good time to point out that Baker and Minter both played MLB. Lamin Barrow playes ROLB.

It was actually Karnell Hatcher and Kevin Minter at MLB in 2011.
Yes, Chavis still had a slight hard on for Karnell Hatcher, for whatever reason...and didn't let Minter really take the reigns till later in the season.

Our Punter whoever it might be...

You are right. Minter played in many different configurations that year. Given that we played mostly nickel all year because you don't ever sit the badger, it wasn't always easy to tell who was the "middle" linebacker. The point is the production out of the mlb spot, no matter how you want to slice it, was about 40-50% higher than what Welter gave, which is consistent during the Chief's tenure here.

He did a solid job while at AU. He started as a true freshman since he was at AU (minus injury). If I recall without looking it up.
Hate that he screwed up so bad his last year but he will be missed IMO

And what he didn't point out was Welter started and played just about every damn snap in 2013, he basically didn't have a backup. Beckwith was on the DL. I think maybe Louis and Feist got a couple quick looks at MLb that year and then it was like nooooooo
That's what makes Welter's performance that year all the more miserable. He was out there just about every defensive snap.

If Coleman Thomas starts on the OL, then him.

No way in hell President starts.
Picking the worst starter for AU this year is a rich man's problem. Auburn's starting lineup is strong all the way around. First time I can remember feeling confident about every single starter.
But if I had to choose, I guess I'd pick Rudy Ford. Despite leading the team in tackles I don't think he's a "complete" safety. He needs some work in coverage, and he only got so many tackles last year because he was the last guy to beat.
*honorable mention: whoever gets the second DT spot.

Should be the Chris Capps award, now and forever.
You could have put a 300 lb bag of rocks at his position and it would have been an improvement.

Do kickers count? If so Taylor Bertolet has this award locked up.
If kickers don't count, then Masterag already pointed out the guy we love to hate on. Here's Mr. Harris saying hello to Mr. Coates:
