Because for most of the season that unit was absolute utter dog shite.

No they weren't. Coming into this game ST had 5 PR TDs, 3 blocked kicks, Scott was solid at P, and AG did a really good job as a K after the 1st 3 games.

Special Teams wasn't as much of an issue this year as it had been in years past. They started off shaky but became a weapon for the Tide for the majority of the season.

At the beginning of the season yeah. By the end it was a strength and was a relative weakness all season for Clemson. Not surprised at all that it ended up being the difference in the game.
