It's a shame our new SEC brethren never got to experience JP games

Early broadcasts can still be rough now, but JP took it to a truly impressive level. The 3 Daves, inexplicable random shots of the crowd during critical plays, grainy broadcasts, and mistakes that make Verne look like he's a got a mind like a steel trap. The good old days

JP looked bad even before we knew what bad really looked like. Turrible.

I sometimes miss their 1980s graphics and spelling errors

It was such a kick in the nuts bc you were already the worst game of the day against a horrible opponent, then the whole JP experience just really brought you down even more.

The best was The Bluegrass Miracle. As LSU's wide receiver was running into the endzone they put up a giant graphic with the score saying Kentucky had won the game.

I liked it because it made me feel like I knew more about football than boys.

Wasn't MSU required to play that 11am game on JP at least 17 times a year back then?

It was a revolving TV schedule between State (Dawgs), Vandy, South Carolina, and Kentucky.

I have to say I do miss the grainy SD Jefferson-Pilot broadcasts. Great start to a Saturday.

For some reason I always associated that game with Ole Miss.

Vandy and Auburn always seemed to be the two we would play on JP.
