Isn't Smart being given a little too much credit for Bama's defense?

Since Saban pretty much coordinates it himself.

Smart would not be on my short list.

Nope. Smart calls the defensive plays, makes the adjustments, etc.

Smart calls the plays. They game plan together.

And what are your credentials? What do you know about hiring a successful coach?

I think that the fact that he has been directly under Saban's tutelage for almost ten years means that he should be on anyone's short list. The guy has been learning the blueprint to dominance for almost a decade. Think about that.

I see your defensive coordinator is doing a wonderful job in Oxford. Tell me again how many trips to Atlanta Ole Piss has made?

That's apparently not correct according to any number of the guys who've worked under him. He works personally alot with the db's but delegates a lot to his staff. Smart's been the day to day and in game commander for years.

He's ready to take a HC job certainly. There's too much administration duties for Saban to have too large a role at Alabama

You insecure frickers need to calm down. I just asked a question. I don't keep up with Bama's day to day coaching operations.

Smart was a DGD, but I agree that's Saban's D! Smart is a hell of a recruiter tho.
