I was at the TN game and it was all round awful. I think there were between 15k and 20k remaining for overtime. Definitely a poor moment for fans and team in spite of unseasonably cold weather.

My buddy who took my other ticket didn't bring a jacket and left at halftime due to the cold. There was no way I was leaving though.

I was there the whole game too, celebrating at the end. Always enjoy my trips from Charleston to Columbia.

I got a flat on 26 that day on the way to the game and had to change it on the side of the road in that cold so I know what you went through!

Dude were you blackout? TN was up 21-14 at halftime after Dobbs had a 40+ yard TD on 4th down with a few seconds left in the half. Your fans were FURIOUS over that play and peaced the F out. Trust me I was there in the center of all of them and they all said they were done with this crap.

TENN 7 14 0 21 3 45
SCAR 7 7 14 14 0 42

Most LSU fans will be angry with this because VH3 didn't say tiger stadium, but that's the third time I've heard this from an SEC player. My freinds who played for Ole Miss (one a center, one a safety) said South Carolina is the toughest palces to play.

Willy B is viciously loud for big games and pretty loud for most others. That 2012 night game versus UGA was probably the loudest it's ever been, I got a headache somewhere around half time..

Some stadiums are consistently at the top of those "most intimidating" lists based off of program reputation and nothing else. Not all, but some. WillyB isn't the loudest game day environment in the country but I would put it in the top 15. Yet when the lists come out it's never there. Filled with the safe options.

I'm willing to bet if you went around and surveyed players what the loudest/most intimidating stadiums are the list would probably look different than a fan surveyed list. It's different when you're on the field and that sound is literally sitting on top of you.

It's been standing since 1922 so, yeah, I'd say it's pretty tough.

I agree but for 2 different reasons.

I agree because like you said, its' just a different setting being at field level. Most fans can't or won't ever really know what it's like being down there when the noise is coming down on top of you.

However, I also think it's worth noting that college players will only play in an opposing stadium at most twice during their career. Many stadiuims they will never play in. As a fan, I've been to far more stadiums for big games than a player has. Their experience is limited to a 4 year window (often times) while fans have a lifetime of experience.

I can't tell you what a stadium sounds like when trying to complete a pass, because I've never been in that position. But I've been going to college stadiums for years and years, so I think I have a good range of input on teh subject compared to someone who has only been somehwere once.

That's irrelevant. Every stadium is loud for their Super Bowl. What about all the other games?

No you weren't. You pump in music from speakers on the field.

For the first time my trip to Fayettevegas was better than Davis-Wade Stadium.

Our stadium really only has a good atmosphere for "big" games.

It's a little more consistent now, but I've been to games where the atmosphere flat out sucked.

This is the sad sad truth. Having grown up a KC Chief's fan, attending games at Arrowhead, the Mizzou gameday experience left me feeling pretty flat. I have since been to some great "big games" at Faurot, but still the best Mizzou game I have been to was at Arrowhead ('07 vs. kU).

Nope. VH3 is a great player who is jelly that LSU is known as DBU and he isn't going to compliment LSU.

Almost all SEC venues have great atmospheres; as for being tough when you are not having a good year, I think both Arky and Tenn can print the shirts. They had embarrassing seasons and they showed up and supported their teams.

When LSU fans want it to be, Death Valley is still the standard.

Tiger Stadium is NOT as loud overall from the begginning of the season to the end as it used to be, but IS still as loud and rowdy for the Big SEC Night games as it ever was.

Because of all the ticket price hikes and various fees associated with season tickets, combined with additional parking fees ON most of the campus and a worsening traffic nightmare after the game, a lot of long-time LSU die-hards have given up their Season Tickets.

They're still coming out for the SEC games, but are buying tickets outside the stadium.

These "Priced Out" and "Hassled Out" former Season Ticket holders have been replaced by a lot of people who are using "Corporate" tickets given out by their companies. A large number of all these "Corporate Newbies" are NOT fanatical LSU Football fans. They are mainly there for the before and after party. They're NOT really concerned that much with the team or the program.

We call em the "Cheesers." (As in Wine & Cheese.) Part of the "See and be Seen" Wine and Cheese crowd. They don't yell very much or very loud and leave early at the drop of a hat. That's why so many leave at half-time now. They just don't care about LSU football that much and that's why the stadium is not quite the same as it used to be.

SEC Night Game if both teams are ranked =

Lower echelon SEC Bottom Feeders = Loud for first Quarter, sometimes into the second.

Out of Conference-Out of State "Sisters of the Poor" =

UT vs UGA in '13

ESPN Tweeted: "Knoxville, TN is the loudest place on earth right now"

We went 5-7 that year, pretty down
