Is Your Stadium Still Tough, Even When You're Not Having a Good Year?

Today, UF DB, V. Hargreaves says S. Carolina is the most difficult SEC stadium to play in during media days.
-Todd Gurley following the 38-35 loss.
To be fair, Hargreaves didn't play at SC last season, the game was in Gainesville. In '13, SC was pretty good and we had that 18 game home win streak.
SC almost always sold out, even in the garbage year of '99. Do you notice fan support/attendance and volume of noise in the stadium waning during a down year?

"Their stadium is off the wall. It just gets so loud."

“This place is unbelievable, man," he said. "It’s one of the craziest environments I’ve ever been in. Once you give the fans something to be excited about, it’s hard to shut them up.”

Definitely one of the things Carolina does well: Gameday environment. Always loud and proud; regardless of circumstances.
Sanford is generally loud, no matter what. But in down years it doesn't consistently stay that way. IMO.

Jordan Hare started off hard as nails last year but by mid season you could tell it was trying to think about baseball. Anything to keep it from ending to quickly.
But, unfortunately, it shot off after the LSU game and became soft as butter. I wasn't there but I've been told you could hear it snore, softly.

Oh, didn't realize a 9-5 season counted as an up year.
Bama went 10-3 that year. One of the worst seasons in a while.

2 of probably the top 5 loudest LSU games I've been to were 2008 Bama and 2014 Ole Miss, and they were by far lSU's two worst teams since 2000.
It's actually pretty fun when your team has nothing to lose and play spoiler. Also I think everyone is just a little drunker when their team sucks

Or any, as far as the Cocks are concerned.

Maybe, y'all played Sandstorm at the practices leading up to the game, but y'all played well. It wasn't until after that game that your team fell apart and lost 5 SEC games.

Yeah, we can only beat Ohio St.

The stadium is only as tough as your team is.

I used to think so, now I'm pretty sure its just hot even when we're not having a good year.

Our stadium really only has a good atmosphere for "big" games.
It's a little more consistent now, but I've been to games where the atmosphere flat out sucked.

All SEC stadiums are loud, when they wanna be.
I've always thought Tiger Stadium (LSU) and Sanford are the two loudest on the road for us.
But I've always been proud of Gamecock fans - honestly, we're good, loyal fans.
I doubt the rest of the league realizes this, but we're always top ten in baseball attendance, usually top five.
This past year, when you combine men's and women's basketball, we led the entire country in paid attendance ... the entire country, in basketball no less.
We've got good fans. The Cock Pit is loud ... most of the time but especially against rivals and in big games, no doubt about it.
