I'm not at all convinced they ever will. For about the past 20,000 basketball offseasons I keep hearing about how the penalties will be announced next week or tomorrow or 18 days from now. But it never actually happens.

The men's or the women's soccer program? They wouldn't take it out on the poor ladies whose team only exists because of title IX, would they?

Does a unc alum run the ncaa? Because I seriously don't understand how they're getting away with this.

NC State has a better chance of getting punished for insinuating North Carolina broke rules than North Carolina basketball does of being punished.

Cute, but UNC is the powerhouse in women's soccer with 21 national titles to their credit in a sport that started in 1982. Their alumni list reads like a who's who of the US national team

Yes, I know most folks on here hate women's sports in general and loathe all forms of soccer in particular, but dropping the hammer on UNC would be like the NCAA nuking Alabama in football.

On the plus side... if they do kick the crap out of UNC for a couple of years that would give the SEC time to close the ground in a sport dominated by the ACC and West coast teams.

The new NOA (notice of allegations) lists the women's basketball team and men's soccer as violators even though UNC is still charged with lack of institutional control. UNC's back room deal with the NCAA has cleared the football team and men's basketball of involvement.

In the works is a way for UNC and Duke to get around the NCAA's new policy of banning host cities and states that have discriminatory laws. The schools have to prove, to the NCAA's satisfaction, that Greensboro, for example, will not be a place where a transgender person will be barred from using the bathroom of their choice.

A letter from the school ought to do it even though the state of North Carolina has a law barring them from using bathrooms that aren't a match for their genitalia at birth. Mississippi schools on the other hand are royally fricked.
