Even before winning the BCS title yesterday, ESPN ranked FSU as #9 most prestigious program of all time. Miami is ranked #10 and UF is ranked at #15. Keep mind this ranking came out on 1/22/2009 which is right after UF won their 2 BCS titles in 3 years.
ESPN
The College Football Research Center ranked FSU #10 best CFB program of all time, ahead of rivals #15 Miami and #18 Florida.
and here's my current program rankings in the state of Florida.
1. FSU
2. Miami
3. UCF
4. USF
5. GA Southern
6. UF

And Florida still has a significant lead on FSU on the field.

No. But UT is Vandy's. And Bama's.

And yet every single year we beat the Vols.

They are, and the gap continues to widen with every passing day that Muschamp is allowed to call the shots.

I would think a team just beginning to turn their own issues around would sympathize with UF. I think it's fairly obvious FSU has a huge lead in the state, but UF will be fine. Historically, All 3 have had periods of success. It's really too close to be a "little brother" situation. It's more like a twin rivalry.

This? Again? You can only use this one more time. Deal?

Should there be a nonzero digit in that numerator? Otherwise, why not just write "0/10"? Perhaps you meant .0000001^4/10

Considering they are at best the fourth best team in Florida?

This year or historically? What was MSU's best year again?

As long as FSU's athletic program continues to operate in the red on a yearly basis, they will always be second fiddle. UF is a giant along with a handful of other programs, such as Texas, USC, Alabama, etc. These programs are actually profitable and give money back to the university.
UF is reeling from one bad football season, marred by an inordinate amount of injuries and bad offensive coaching. But everyone thinks UF is a mess right now. Recruiting has been excellent, so there is no reason to believe UF will stay down for long. Financially, UF is doing extremely well, so they can afford to pay their coaches very generous salaries. Should Muschamp fail, and if theres a highly sought after coach available, UF can outbid almost anyone. Even if we wanted Jimbo Fisher, we could throw enough money at him to get him to come to Gainesviile. FSU would not be able to match the offer.
I dont believe FSU's success is sustainable. Their athletic program does not have deep enough pockets to keep up with the Joneses. They have a smaller fanbase, and their alumni and boosters dont have or donate as much money.

How fitting for a UT fan to start a thread like this. When was the last time they even beat the Gators?

This is like the last thing that Florida has to hold on to. Like when we were beating our chests about THE STREAK over Kentucky. No one else cared except for Tennessee and Kentucky. And no one cares about Tennessee and Florida except for us.
But then we lost the streak. And one day, so shall you, too.
And I will bathe in your tears.
