Is this the deepest group of pass rushers the conference has ever had?

It isn't perfect, but using the CBS NFL Draft Prospects list (national rank)

Defensive End
2017
#1 - Jonathan Allen (Alabama)
#5 - Deatrich Wise Jr (Arkansas)
#7 - Daeshon Hall (Texas A&M)
#8 - Bryan Cox (Florida)
#10 - Lewis Neal (LSU)

2018
#1 - Myles Garrett (Texas A&M)
#2 - Carl Lawson (Auburn)
#3 - Derek Barnett (Tennessee)
#5 - Charles Harris (Missouri)
#6 - Da'Shawn Hand (Alabama)

2019
#2 - Byron Cowart (Auburn)
#4 - Arden Key (LSU)
#6 - CeCe Jefferson (Florida)
#7 - Walter Brady (Missouri)
#10 - Jonathan Ledbetter (Georgia)

Outside Linebacker
2017
#1 - Tim Williams (Alabama)
#2 - Jarrad Davis (Florida)
#5 - Ryan Anderson (Alabama)
#6 - Jalen Reeves-Maybin (Tennessee)

2018
#1 - Marquis Haynes (Ole Miss)
#3 - Rashaan Evans (Alabama)
#4 - Lorenzo Carter (Georgia)
#10 - Tre' Williams (Auburn)

2019
#4 - Jeff Holland (Auburn)
#5 - Christian Miller (Alabama)
#10 - Dre Greenlaw (Arkansas)

That's 16 of the top 30 DE/OLB on their draft board for the next 3 years from the SEC.

Stacked.

But Key should be on there as an OLB.

OLB/DE is all pretty fluid these days depending on scheme or situation. That's why I listed both.

Not according to the NFL draft rankings clearly. They project NFL positions, not match college positions

Dee Ford was a DE at Auburn and was drafted to play OLB for example.

Cowart is more of a SDE than a pass rusher and Tre Williams is an ILB

Jeebus, and Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson put their hands in the ground a lot.

They almost all rush the QB - that was the point of this. Take the position arguments up with CBS.

Probably... That's a freakish list with a lot of future millionaires on it... I hope Greg Little is ready.

2006 was better, on the field anyways. This might be better on paper.

Is Williams going to play more every down situations this year? Seemed like almost all he did last year was get to pin his ears back and go on obvious passing downs.

I'm pretty sure that's the plan. He may leave on third and short situations, but he'll play a lot more snaps this year.

He will play more for sure. But still expect the LBs (except for Reuben Foster) to be on and off the field a good bit depending on the defensive set. If Alabama is able, I would still expect them to sub in designated run stoppers for Williams on third/fourth and short / goal line.

Arden Key had his hand on the ground last year. This year he will be a stand up defensive end, not OLB. There is a difference

I think the SEC goes back to being an Elite defensive conference this year.

garret won't play 4 years. Way too much potential.
