Is this finally the year that Cohen's Dawgs take 2/3 from Mainieri's Tigers ?

John Cohen has desperately wanted to take a series from Paul Mainieri since his arrival in Starkville... Other than beating the Tigahs twice in Hoover one season, it's been a very lopsided series in LSU's favor... The baws of summah in Red Stick are struggling at the plate this season and their pitching staff certainly hasn't lived up to preseason expectations... Is this finally the year that MSU gets over the hump ?
I say no... The games are at Alex Box and LSU finds a way to take 2 from the Dawgs like they always do... Maybe in 2017.

Wasn't there a thread like this before the Bama series?

Anything could happen. This LSU team is young and inexperienced.

An LSU fan knocking your own team. Take it to the bama board, they knock us all the time, so you'll fit in perfectly.

You get past msu's starters and they're done. They have zero bullpen.
Read where their Friday and Saturday starters threw something like 245 combined pitches.
Their arms are gonna be done halfway through the season.

most of the players on last years SEC championship team are gone. we are rebuilding.
this is the year for paybacks. LSU is going to be a spoiler this year. we'll knock somebody out of the title.

what is a rebuilding year for LSU look like? 14-16 conference record? 13-17? problably more like 17-13 in my opinion.

I think a few teams who haven't done that in a while are going to get it done this year. This just isn't our year. Too much youth in the field and at the plate, too much inconsistency on the mound. I would be pleasantly surprised if we get invited to a regional this year, the chances of which have been reduced by playing a feather-soft OOC schedule which hurts our ratings, leaving us dependent on a good showing in SEC play, for which we are now unprepared. Also, history has proven that, if LSU is anywhere near the bubble for the NCAA tournament in baseball, we literally NEVER get the benefit of the doubt.

Yea we have the starters to win many series but if our young guys don't get in a groove soon we won't last long in any tournament

Depends on how quick they can put it together. I think they will be doing well at the end of the season but we are taking our lumps for sure. Hopefully we can avoid the sweep against A&M.

This is the best offensive team Cohen has had. I would be very curious to see this team in the hands of some of the other coaches in the league.

I hope we get it done this year. The dogs are looking so far but got to find some reliable arms out of the bullpen

I know you are a shiitty OM fan and all, but if you took up the time took actually look up the series record you would realize how big a fail this thread was.
Hint: if the Tigers swept the dogs for about the next 10 years they could pull even.
The mighty Reb's would need a few more years than that to do the same.

Their left fielder, carrying a damn near 7 ERA, completely shut down LSU this weekend.

So the answer is yes.
