They're still co-champs. Same thing in 1988 with Auburn and LSU.

Because the SEC says so?
and my question was why?
There is not a single thing that would give credence to them being co-champs that year.
If we both finished with the same SEC record (even though we beat them H2H) I would at least understand the logic there. But that's not the case.

Tell me again how they were co-champs?
Because Mississippi State had to forfeit their season, and one of the two losses were to them. That made UK 5-1. You can still be co-champs while losing the head-to-head.

I see.
I thought situations like that wiped away wins for the offending team but didn't realize it wiped away losses for the opponents.
At any rate, anyone can clearly see who the actual champ was that year.

You're thinking of vacating wins, which they do instead these days. Probably to avoid these situations.
I agree, UGA are the champs. The system just allowed UK to slide in as a co-champ.

As much as it p*sses me off, it's really just a one team league in football: Alabama.

Kentucky is so good at basketball they make it 7.

I'd say there is a big 3. Arkansas, Florida and LSU are the only 3 that provide value across multiple sports. Everyone else does only 1 or 2 things really well.

MSU forfeited (not vacated) all of their wins from 76 and 77 over using an eligible player. UK then had the same conference record as Georgia and were retroactively announced as co-champs and sent a trophy.

Weren't y'all the last ones who had to forfeit? The NCAA started vacating instead in 98.

Isn't any league a ___ team league in football?
ACC: FSU and Clemson, maybe Miami and Louisville
Big 10: Buckeyes, Meatchicken, and throw in Penn St, Wiskey, and the occasional Iowa
Big XII: Oklahoma and Texas historically. TCU has been steady. Baylor is dead.
PAC-12: USC and a revolving door as the "other" team between UCLA, Stanford, Oregon, and Washington.

When you factor in everything, LSU is the cream of the crop in the SEC.

Assuming you mean Alabama by "y'all", then I suppose? There was in 1993, yes. I haven't looked up if anyone else has between then and 1998.

If you squint real hard. One team to be exact.
