Is the bowl in Mobile really actually now the Dollar General Bowl?

If true, how embarrassing it would be for your team to go to that bowl. Would be better to stay at home than have to suffer that kind of humiliation. At least the GoDaddy Bowl had a sexy aura connotation about it.

It indeed is. The early projections look like it's going to be Troy vs Toledo. I'm sure they don't care what the name of the bowl is.

Damn, that bowl loves some trashy sponsors. GoDaddy, now Dollar General? These guys don't care about their image at all

Damn, its first year they called it the Mobile Alabama Bowl and even that sounds better than the Dollar General Bowl.

FYI, DG is the fastest growing retail company in the country.

I live in a pretty upscale rural neighborhood. They built a DG just on the outskirts of our little area. It's awesome. It cuts the time in half when you need to run to the store for something and the prices are very good.

So stupid whenever people say this. I remember when Bama went to the Music City back in 2004, a Tennessee fan who is a family friend said "If Tennessee ever gets invited to that, I hope they refuse the bowl."

Going to bowls is always a good thing. The extra practice alone is worth it, not to mention the payout. You saying that makes me suspect you weren't around from 97-07.

When I went to Oxford for the OM game this year, their halftime giveaway was like a $500 grocery card to Dollar General. Thought that was kind of funny, but hey, 500 at DG would go a long way

We have them in Georgia but maybe they're bigger in Bama/Miss.

Mobile: Shrimp Bowl, Mardi Gras Bowl, Gulf Bowl, Moon Pie Bowl (this is more of a joke), Azalea Bowl, Leprechaun Bowl

Birmingham Bowl: Vulcan Bowl, Magic City Bowl, Steel Bowl, Hospital Bowl

When you need some light bulbs, laundry detergent and a box of banana moon pies, you go to Dollar general, and you are done in under 3 minutes. That's what the whole country does.
If there is anything embarrassing about a bowl sponsored by Dollar General,it just goes to show, how stupid our country has become.

I go to Dollar General when I don't want to fight the crowds at Walmarks.

That would buy a months worth of groceries, with enough left for a new still and an outhouse!

Exactly man, there is a reason Dollar General has been so successful. They are convenient.
Walmart and Dollar General are equal distances from our house, but a trip to Walmart takes an hour,a trip to DG 15 minutes.
I don't get how some people think.I actually have family members that refuse to be seen at DG,but I am pretty sure that I was adopted.

The Shreveport bowl is going to be the "Larry Flint Barely Legal Bowl".
