Plus Mizzou had rivals and WV did not. Its a total downgrade and it's impossible to spin it any other way.

I'm sure it's impossible for you.

Finally, someone posts something that would be a good debate.

Damn, including Nebraska in that actually makes it tough, I must admit.

Not it isn't. Schools change conferences in their history. What school wouldn't want more TV revenue and also increase their academic prestige? It isn't as hard as people try to make it sound.

By joining the B1G schools get more TV revenue, monstrous payouts from the Rose Bowl games (shared within the conference...will be up to $50 million dollars now and that isn't counting the CFB Playoff), increased federal dollars for research, better students which can become bigger alumni dollars, etc, etc.

A school like Stanford could stand on their own without the B1G to accomplish all of the above. MIT will be joined in with the B1G for non-revenue sports very soon...rowing is one sport that is already being talked about.

Texas. A&M told the Big12 they were in it for the long haul but left for a better deal.

You continue to do nothing but post lies.

A&M said it was committed to the Big 12 as it was at that time. Wording was made clear and it was understood by all. Then texass continued to lie and attempt to manipulate the LHN and deceive everyone in the conference.

Texass lied again and A&M and Mizzou had had enough. The commissioner of the PAC 12 said texass was not to be trusted, he was right.

All that being said, A&M for TCU, football wise, was a net win for both conferences I guess

is that why tcu/texas generated less than half of the viewers of a&m/lsu this past thanksgiving, or was it because you were relegated to playing them on a shitty network that no one realizes they have?

Poor aggies and the rest of the forgotten misfits, like Arkansas.

Aggy bitches to high heaven about TEXAS keeping all of its third-tier profits, yet Nebraska plays up to five games on PPV (as in 2008), keeps all the profit (as they were the home team), and none of the money (which the article stated was MORE than what they would've gotten if aired on a regular medium) is shared with their conference mates.

Total, complete, utter silence.
Then, TEXAS comes along and proposes going in with A&M on a network. Aggy declines, saying it won't work, it will NEVER happen.

TEXAS goes on to sign 20-year, $300 million deal with ESPN, totally catching Aggy administrators with their pants down.

Aggy bitching and moaning about "not sharing third-tier profits" ensues.

Aggy leaves to suckle at the teat of others.

Which brings me to Arkansas...

Arkansas suckled at the teat of the state of Texas for decades in the SWC. No network gave a shite about the television sets in Yellville or Mountain Home.

The Texas-SWC gravy train was running dry for Arkansas, so Piggies look for another set of teats to suckle. Hence, move to SEC.

Yet, somehow, some way, TEXAS "ran off" Arkansas and was the "only" team to hoard profits from third-tier programming.

Rich stuff, friends!

I think it will be hard for a power five system to survive in the four team playoff era.

Years back I thought the ACC looked ripe for plunder, but the scorched earth policies Texas did on the Big 12 have clearly left them the most vulnerable of the conferences.

I am sure Texas will land somewhere good eventually, but they will have to get used to a conference not revolving around them, and I am not sure the ego that is Texas can live with that.

The fact that you are posting on a board that doesn't concern your school, about a school that doesn't consider your school to be a rival, is just sad.

You are such a demented pussy.

You are on the SEC rant emulating your school

We left because texass lied to everyone about everything, and then wouldn't/couldn't stop lying and deceiving everyone.

That made Nebraska leave, Colorado leave, A&M leave and Missouri leave.

No one could trust your leadership, even the PAC 12 washed their hands after they caught you lying to them.

aTm should drop the "we left because of Texas" line. Why not just say "we left because the SEC is a much better conference than the Big 12 and they wanted us." aTm is clearly better off now in the SEC than they were 5 years ago.

Well that is obvious. But we weren't happy because Texas ruined two conferences in a row. We needed to get away from their incredibly toxic business practices

We are better off and the SEC is a much better place.

But we would have never called Slive and never would have left, and neither would have Nebraska, Colorado or Missouri if Texass had not been caught trying to screw everyone over with their PAC 12 scheme.

Let's see, split the operating costs 50/50, get 30% or less of the earnings.

WHAT A DEAL!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE WE TURNED IT DOWN.
