They are a shell of a conference. If OU weren't burdened by Okie Lite the Big 12 would have imploded already because OU would have been gone long ago. Absolutely no one can deal with the shite that flows out of Austin. The other schools might have tried to put on a good front when A&M and MU left, trying to look like one big happy family, but everyone I talk to IRL still hates tejas to the core.

Conference realignment has really sucked the life out of sports for a lot of fans that miss their old rivalries.

yea, it's sad to me. all that matters is the money. and the players don't see it and the fans pay it. so who the hell is getting it?

it's the minor sports, esp the womens sports.

the schools have always got theirs.

Pair the lack of talent coming out of the Big 12 with no representation in the first College Football playoff, no conference championship game and no one playing in a BCS Championship game since 2009.

WVU will be fine if they could get into the SEC or ACC since there is no chance for them to get into the B1G.

Depending on which two teams the B1G eventually takes away from the Big 12 or ACC, we could see a merger of the Big 12 and ACC and some schools could be left out like Kansas, Iowa State, etc, while Texas goes to the Pac 12 and Oklahoma State goes to the ACC or Pac 12 (if the B1G gets Oklahoma).

Can you imagine UT in the Pac and A&M in the SEC?

Yeah, someone has to be in 5th place. But very few people care about conference. Getting outside of your conference for post season, yeah, that matters.

Big12 has one issue and one alone. They can't make having the 5th team in a four team football championship series a habit.

One of their team runs the table, problem solved.

And frick everyone else in the Big12.

OU and Texas are all the Big12 has. Given that Texas went into the toilet a few years ago that leaves only OU carrying the water.

OU is sporadic as hell though, seem to be elite, only to fall off immediately, only to look elite again, up and down as hell.

TCU looks to be the best team in the conference now,

Baylor are frauds. Every time they get a legit opponent they lose.

It is more likely Texas would go independent before joining the Pac 12. They sure wouldn't go to the SEC for many reasons and the B1G wouldn't want to deal with their politics unless it was a package deal with Oklahoma.

It all will depend which two teams the B1G eventually takes.

Texass ruined the SWC and destroyed the big 12 with it's greed and lies.

It's a shame and I almost feel bad for those left behind

Pac12 won't take Texas. Pac12, like the SEC, made its additions and they are set.

Florida State isn't exactly happy being in the ACC. If there is no TV Network started by 2017 they may ask to get out and could go to the B1G since the B1G has been talking to them.

All of this stuff will work itself out. Either the ACC crumbles and the Big 12 becomes stronger or the Big 12 crumbles and the ACC gets stronger, but the ACC could lose their football power program.

Yep. If it even needs working out.

The B1G isn't done. Never have been. The goal has always been 16. It's just a matter of which conference the B1G raides. The B1G Network along with other TV contracts is going to be paying out $50 million dollars plus to each school in the B1G in the coming years. That will be significantly more than any other conference and the stability of the Northeast TV market is going to be appealing to Oklahoma, Florida State, Carolina schools (Duke or North Carolina), etc.

Utah is worried about being left way behind the B1G TV money that is coming. Florida State has gone public about those concerns as well.

The B1G will get the schools they desire the most as long as they get voted to be accepted into the conference.

I doubt Oklahoma is satisfied and will jump to the B1G eventually.

I didn't know OU became an AAU member overnight.

Actually what would a Nebraska fan know about the AAU, y'all got kicked out.
