Wouldn't get into the 4-team format for 2014

Wouldn't get into an 8 team conference champs playoff format

Chances are they'd miss a top 8 overall playoff format or be the last team in

But in a 16-team, conference champs + at large bid format(like FCS), they'd get in and be a factor.

No, but A&M does make the case that FR QBs don't win NCs.

I wouldn't have a problem with a 16 team playoff because it would be really exciting to watch. I just don't think it's needed. Four teams is a perfect number. When's the last time we've seen more than four undefeated teams from a major conference? If a team loses a game during the season, they don't really have a gripe for getting screwed. Win all your games and it wouldn't have been an issue. 2004 Auburn is the only team that's truly been screwed over in the BCS era and they would have gotten a shot if there was a four-team playoff in place. I hope they stick with a four-team playoff for a long time to come.

Is Auburn making a case for a 120 team playoff? They handled Alabama A&M with ease and New Mexico State too. If they got into the 120 team playoff and someone like Kansas had to play them first round, possibly HELLO Sweet 60!

Why is the "Sweet 16" ok for basketball and not for football?

Seems to work very well.

So 12 game slate, 1 CCG, 4 game playoff...possible 17 football games for part time amateurs. Everyone of these kids need to get paid 5 grand a game.

A 16 team playoff would be an absolute joke. I'm happy with 4.

No one give a shite about regular season college basketball. CFB has the best regular season in sport. Don't mess it up.

4 suffices for me also, especially the mandate that the semi's are Jan 1 bowls.

I say the four conference champs plus anybody else in the top 8 for my playoff. Try to reward the Conference winners and the best teams at the same time! A 4 team playoff won't work!

Too late.

We are stuck in this 4 team playoff for a long long time.

You suckers took the fist thing they threw at you and thought it was a big improvement.

The 4 team playoff is a joke. Yet, everyone is sold on it because the fine folks at ESPN told ya so.

16 is a bit too many IMO.

I wouldn't go more than 12. Give 5 autobids for the highest ranked conference champs. The 7 other slots are at large teams picked from either from a committee or BCS style ranking system. Top 4 get an opening round bye as a reward regardless of if they won their conference or not.

8 and 6 would be better than 4 as well.

I think it should be 8. It will keep many teams competing and also allow for a greater degree of variance in the playoffs. That would be better for the sport.

Agree.

16 is too many, definitely takes away from the regular season.

8 team playoff would be good after the ACC crumbles leaving 4 super conferences. The 4 conference winners get in plus the top 4 ranked in a BCS style ranking system. No team outside of the top 10 should ever play for a national title.

College Football is unique in that the regular season is more exciting than the post season. A 16 team playoff and that's gone.
