Is Sumlin removed if he has another October collapse?

How short is his leash? Last year the Ags were 5-0 going into October then losses to Alabama, Ole Miss, and Auburn and LSU in November... Ending up 4-4 in SEC play and 8-5 overall. 5-0 again going into October...Tennessee and Alabama on deck, would ATM fire Sumlin for finishing the same as he did last year?

Yes, but after the bowl game. Not 4 games in.

Sumlin is their best coach in a long time. They would be crazy to fire him.

We won't pull the plug 4 games in because our AD is a professional and not a clown

We only have 5 potential losses left on the schedule. (UT, UA, UM, MSU, LSU). If we go 0-5, he's out. That's a 7-5 season record. If we go 1-4, we finish at 8-4. He might get canned. If we go 2-3, ad I expect we will, then he's safe at 9-3.

They're not going to fire what is their best coach/recruiter they've ever had. Especially when his teams are doing better then their average.

This is why y'all will always be Aggie. He shouldn't be safe with that. He makes too much and to keep settling on 8 and 9 win seasons.

I guess it depends on who is available, and how many schools are looking for coaches. With LSu already looking, UTeast, ND, and maybe even USC(according to their fans at least), and maybe Auburn if they nose dive. aTm might feel it best to keep Sumlin because they might feel like they can't do better. Now don't get me wrong, there is money and then there is Texas money. I am not saying they can't outbid some of these schools, but these are all among the best jobs. Competition might make it a bad year for a coaching change.
