The SEC is getting killed in television ratings compared to year's past. Here are the top-rated games so far this season based on number of viewers:

1) Notre Dame @ Texas- 10.95 M viewers
2) Louisville @ Clemson- 9.29 M viewers
3) Ohio State @ Wisconsin- 8.96 M viewers
4) Ole Miss vs. Florida State- 8.35 M viewers
5) Alabama @ Ole Miss- 8.17 M viewers
6) Alabama vs. USC- 7.95 M viewers
7) LSU vs. Wisconsin- 7.83 M viewers
8) Wisconsin @ Michigan- 6.85 M viewers

The top 3 games of the season have not involved any SEC teams. Only one of the Top 8 games has been an SEC vs. SEC matchup... it comes in at just #5.

If you take a real hard look at scheduling you will see that many SEC games are scheduled close together.

I will watch my team and then take a quick glance at others during commercials and timeouts.

I will watch a lot more or the whole game if it is at a different time than when Florida plays.

Odd, I don't see any teams from the East on that list.

Give the SEC a Sunday night football game with no NFL and see what happens. Plus you factor in the SEC game of the week happens at 230, not at 6.

Yep. I've also missed some good games from having to stand in line for hours for home games.

Sad state of affairs when Ole Miss is the most popular national brand in the SEC.

#1 and #4 were the only CFB games going on that day. So naturally with a marquee match-up, it draws more ratings.

It'll be over by halftime. No one wants to watch LSU get blown out for the 6th year in a row.

2007 LSU 41, Bama 34
2008 Bama 27, LSU 21 (OT)
2009 Bama 24, LSU 15
2010 LSU 24, Bama 21
2011 LSU 9, Bama 6 (OT)
2012 Bama 21, LSU 17
2014 Bama 20, LSU 13 (OT)
2015 Bama 30, LSU 16

Yeah, some awfully non-competitive games there

Besides the BCSCG and 2013 game in Tuscaloosa, Bama-LSU is always a competitive game. Hell, even those two "blowouts" were competitive until the 4th quarter.

There's a reason CBS consistently puts LSU-Bama Primetime and that the game always has good ratings.
