Yes, because Ohio and Michigan are better states than Alabama.

More national prominence. Bama vs. Auburn is in the top 5, but not close to Ohio St./Michigan
Since 2009, the winner of the Iron Bowl has played for the National Championship.

No.
Iron Bowl is the greatest rivalry in all of sports

No, there's nothing like AU/UA. I mean, have you ever heard of an OSU fan killing a fellow fan for not rooting hard enough for the Buckeyes?

Up there, they play football. In Alabama, we live for football. If that's sad, so be it. We don't have professional teams and big cities yada yada.

It will be a bigger game this year because we are terrible but it's not close to the Iron Bowl in terms of day in day out nastiness.

if you live in big 10 country. Sure.

The game may not be as impactful as often, but it's not our fault Auburn sucks
The Iron Bowl is more closely contested series than OSU/Mich.

another point in IB's favor.

Alabama-Tennessee is a better rivalry than both.
I think the game has to be played every year to count as a rivalry.

for my money our rivalry is a bit meaner and intense but then again I'm sitting in the middle of it
I lived in Ohio for quite some time. I know players that played for both OSU and UM, the rivalry in general (fans and players) is on par with an NFL rivalry. Saints/Falcons, Bengals/browns/steelers, etc...

1. Michigan vs Ohio St
2. Auburn vs Alabama
3. Texas vs Oklahoma
4. Florida vs Florida St.
5. Notre Dame vs USC
I think those are the top 5 rivalries in college football. Obviously Barn vs Bama has been better in recent years, but its cyclical....those 5 can be interchanged year in and year out imo.

Not last year.
OSU and Oregon played for it.

When OSU/Michigan go to 5 straight title games, get back to me. Until then, frick those yankees.

When people use that metric I think it's kinda funny. You could basically say the winner of the Ohio State-Indiana game won the Big Ten title every year in the 2000s
Posted on 10/9/15 at 11:26 am to WildTchoupitoulas
Alabama made the playoff.

The biggest rivalry would be Bama - LSU, if LSU would accept the existence of rivals.
