Blaine got drafted so high because of his luxurious hair- you will not be able to convince me otherwise.

No SEC school can claim to be QBU, but UGA has the best argument.

Going by quarterbacks to play in the NFL, LSU is probably 2nd, but JaMarcus' taste for purple drank rendered that a debate few LSU fans will wish to engage in.

At first I was like, WTF?

But then I saw that a Mizzou fan didn't start this thread.

I don't recognize some of those names but some of them are Texas high school QB's that were ignored by Texas schools and had to go out of state to play.

Not sure that qualifies for QB U.

Blaine got drafted because he's a gym jock. Looks great in the gym throwing but lousy once on the field. He got drafted because of his height and he does have a cannon for an arm. However, as a QB in a game, he was very meh. Middle to bottom of the pack every year in the B12 in nearly every statistical category. But man did he look glorious in his pro day at the the indoor practice facility throwing scripted passes.

Let's look at 1st round Quarterbacks over the last 10 years and see how they turned out: (all schools)

2014

Blake Bortles (UCF-Jacksonville): Still TBD
Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M - Cleveland): Still TBD, but not looking good
Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville - Minnesota): So far the best QB in the 2014 draft

2013

E.J. Manuel (Florida St - Buffalo): Bust

2012

Andrew Luck (Stanford - Indy): As good as advertised
Robert Griffin (Baylor - Washington): Bust
Ryan Tannehill (Texas A&M - Miami): Solid starter, but not much more

2011

Cam Newton (Auburn - Carolina): All-Pro
Jake Locker (Washington - Tennessee): Injury Prone, retired
Blaine Gabbert (Missouri - Jacksonville): Huge bust
Christian Ponder (Florida St - Minnesota): Crowning achievement is marrying Samantha Steele

2010

Sam Bradford (Oklahoma - St. Louis): Injury prone bust
Tim Tebow (Florida - Denver): No comment needed

2009

Matt Stafford (Georgia - Detroit): Solid to great pro
Mark Sanchez (USC - NY Jets): BUTT FUMBLE
Josh Freeman (Kansas St - Tampa): Bust

2008

Matt Ryan (Boston College - Atlanta): Solid to great pro
Joe Flacco (Delaware - Baltimore): One of the best

2007

Jamarcus Russell (LSU - Oakland): No comment needed
Brady Quinn (Notre Dame - Cleveland): Bust

2006

Vince Young (Texas - Tennessee): Flaming mess of a bust
Matt Leinart (USC - Arizona): Bust
Jay Cutler (Vanderbilt - Denver): Decent with flashes of greatness

That would be like us trying to say that Ryan Tannehill is a product of the SEC when he graduated before we joined.

Another product of tGOAT, Sherman. I bet you guys are really kicking yourselves for giving that guy the ax.

He was recruited by Franchione, idiot. He signed with A&M in February of 2007 and was a wide receiver for 3 seasons under Sherman.

He made a pro bowl as an alternate after a few guys backed out and Eli Manning made the super bowl.

He's got potential, but he isn't an "all pro".

So Sherman took someone else's WR recruit and turned him into a first round QB selection? Sounds like tGOAT to me.

Reggie McNeal liked to dip his smokes in promethazine. He had the most raw talent I've ever seen.

If Slocum doesn't get fired, Sumlin stays on at OC Reggie would have been drafted as a QB instead of WR. Dude ran a 4.27 40 and had a 95mph fastball. Could throw a football 75 yards from his knees but couldn't keep his head on straight. Much like Jamarcus.

Sunshine's flowing locks were glorious...his accuracy was not. I think he would have done well at any team that wasn't the Jags or the Raiders, or Browns. Those three are career killers right now.
