I've seen most Vol fans saying that botch is gone after such a miserable start to the season. Vols wanted UGA to beat Butch's shite in and if he's not fired then it was all for nothing?

If Butch isn't gone soon y'all need to look forward to an extension, Sorry Vols.

Butch won 9 games last year and didn't get an extension so......you see 10 wins on that schedule anywhere?

Butch will get fired but expect the UT admin to bumblefrick around and wait until its too late, or just mishandle it in general. Its what we do best.

Only chance of an extension is if he goes 9-3, but there's almost zero chance of that happening.

I don't think he gets fired till after Bama. Even if he loses this week, which is likely.

USCe and LSU have taught the SEC recently that there is no advantage to being the first head coaching job open.

In fact it is a detriment because if the program doesn't get a slam dunk hire the narrative becomes "but they had all the time to get the deal done."

Add in the new early signing period and I don't see any reason to not fire coaches until the last minute.

Strike 1: Got beaten by depleted and terrible UF team
Strike 2: Barely escaped the worst team in FBS
Strike 3: Worst home loss (and shutout) since 1905

He should be out imo. Loss to South Carolina should be nail in the coffin

I think that actually would influence people to fire guys sooner. With the new signing period, if you have rumors swirling all season, then recruits are going to be wary. You have less than a month once the season ends before the early signing period. I don't see how waiting until the last minute to fire a coach would be beneficial in that regard.

This is true!

It's a detriment because the interim head coach can look good for a bit and accidentally get the full time job.

Last week several of their folks insisted he'd be gone after the weekend.
Ridiculous.
With few exceptions, such a mid-season move would be asinine.
I have little doubt the Vols will have a different coach next year, but I'd be surprised if any change transpires publicly before December.

DGAF when it happens but the search bus should already up and running behind the scenes, then again this is the UT admin.

Look for an interim coach...only to be named permanent head coach with a $2 million per year "savings".

I think it would be great for UT to lose to USC this weekend and for them to name Fulmer interim HC before the Alabama. the story lines alone would be beautiful.
