So far in Kim Anderson's 3 year tenure at Mizzou:

2014-2015: 9–23
2015-2016: 10–21
2016-2017: 5-9

Current overall record: 24-53(.311)

Current overall record in SEC play: 6-32 (.158)

Current overall record against Division 1 Power 5 schools: 6-51 (.105)

Current overall neutral site game record: 2-10 (.167)

Current overall true road game record: 0-22 (.000)

He's the first coach in Mizzou basketball history to...

-Lead the team to a 13 game losing streak

-Lead the team to back-to-back last place finishes in conference play

-Not win a single true road game in back-to-back seasons

Mizzou's record 6 seasons prior to Kim Anderson's arrival for reference

31-7
23-11
23-11
30-5
23-11
23-12
9-23
10-21
5-9

quote:

?@GabeDeArmond 52min #Mizzou entered today at 27.1% from three, 344th of 347 teams. 6/36 today drops it to 25.8%, which would be 346th, ahead of only Alabama A&M

I just don't understand how Anderson is that bad. Wasn't he very respectable at his previous stint? Did Mizzou have sanctions when he arrived?

Maybe he just doesn't give a frick anymore. I'm amazed at these coaches who make millions and can't just walk away and enjoy their lives

Kim Anderson is the Nick Saban of the NFL.

How many guys have been successful taking over a program under NCAA investigation, later to be slapped with penalties and a roster full of transfers who were never true members of the program they represented.

Guy was never here to be anything but a bridge -- from total darkness to hopefully slightly closer to the light.

Also, 97% chance you're a catfish.

Under investigation. Sanctions came later.

I'm certain he gives a frick. It's his alma matter. He's embarrassed with himself, I'm sure. Giving a frick is the reason he was hired amid the circus disaster he was taking over.

Ah, well the sanctions explains a lot.

I can assure everyone that Anderson knows more about coaching and basketball than Johnny jones.

Kim Anderson was a very good coach at the lower level.

That's not an excuse, especially for this level of ineptitude. The sanctions were minor.

What? This is an anonymous college sports message board. What the hell are you talking about?

Give it up. He blows. The only thing NCAA sanctions did was one scholly. We couldn't fill that scholly with anyone worth putting on the floor so the NCAA sanctions are irrelevant.

He's an out of touch doofus with an arrogance issue and a shitty X and Os coach to boot. There's no redeeming qualities.

He wasn't. He won games. He wasn't a good coach. D1 P5 basketball isn't the same sport as D2 MIAA basketball. He should've stayed put.

Answer the question.

How many guys have been successful taking over a program with the cloud of an NCAA investigation, and later got hit with sanctions of any kind.

About the same level as Turner Gill in the program destroyer rankings.

So...yes.

None of that is relevant to the point.

He does blow. He is a goofy old guy. Stale. Nothing about him points to possible success in D1 P5 basketball.

What ended up happening with the sanctions isn't entirely relevant either, the fact that the cloud was hovering over the program with the investigation when he took over is the more relevant issue.

How many people have been successful given the hand he was dealt? I have no idea. Asking.

could be true but former players describe him as a nice guy.

He's almost certainly a nice guy. An overall respectable guy.

I would bet his 'arrogance', if he has any, is more in line with Les Miles style -- not wanting to change or adapt from what he believes works best.
