He probably read the Take-Two article on ESPN about it where the 2 bloggers talk about Rhett Lashlee from Auburn and Kiffin being the 2 coordinators in the SEC that will probably land head coaching jobs first.

This would honestly be a smart thing for Bama.
Whoever the coach is is probably going to take as step back and it's going to be hard for the fanbase to accept. It's very hard to follow Saban. So, put a sacrificial lamb out there...have a quick hook, and make a big hire in 3-4 years without the pressure of following Saban.

Mario Cristobal, the players love and respect him. Great recruiter, particularly in South Florida.
Dabo bears consideration too, wouldn't have said that a few years ago, but he's definitely maturing as a HC and he has always been a great recruiter.
But we don't have to worry about this for another 5-6 years, if not longer.

quote:probably not. he will get a mid level HC gig after another year or 2, and hopefully can apply some of what he is learning from Saban on how to run a program.

Possibly.
Being white-trashy, and having an undeserved sense of entitlement, Kiffin mirrors his fanbase in Tuscaloosa.

Dude won't last 2 years in Bama as HC. Bama fans would chew him up.
