Is Gus too arrogant to let his QBs work with a coach outside of his program?

Here are some past quotes from Gustav.
You want them thinking about hitting the big play, but risk it by throwing into double coverage?
I'm sure Jeremy Johnson working with a George Whitfield this summer might of had you guys at 3-1 right now.
All Jeremy has to work with is some dude that played on Malzahn's high school team.

"You want them thinking exactly like you want them to think." "When you get multiple people working, there's multiple thoughts, so we want them thinking one way."

quote:
"We've never had anyone work with our quarterbacks while they still had eligibility," "We feel really good about how we go about it and the success we've had before. There won't be anyone working with our quarterbacks until their eligibility is exhausted."

A lot of coaches actually go this route. Cutcliffe has the same philosophy and he seems to have done ok coaching QB's.

When redshirt freshman quarterback Sean White takes the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday for his first college start against Mississippi State, he’ll do so with high praise from his personal coach, Ken Mastrole.
Mastrole doesn’t have the same name recognition as fellow passing guru George Whitfield, but the former college quarterback knows talent when he sees it and has given tips to several future pros at his academy in Estero, Florida including Teddy Bridgewater and E.J. Manuel.
Snowboard Cam works with who he wants.

Well once he gets fired after this season, that won't be an issue.

Jeremy opening his eyes when he throws and not throwing it backwards would be helpful.

I don't fault Gus for the above. I would do it the same way.
I fault Gus for pumping up Jeremy Johnson in the offseason in a very misleading way.

Thank God Saban isn't.

He played QB at Arkansas in college.

Lashley backed up Matt Jones at Arkansas under the passing Zar, Hooten Nutt. Anything he learned about QB passing came from Gustav. He never started a game.

Right but he still played QB in college. He wasn't just a "high school" QB.
