Hes 60-42 in 8 years at Mississippi State with 7 straight bowl games. Hes took them to # 1 in college football and played for a Orange Bowl. I cant think of anyone whos done a better job at a comparable school.

Supposedly he denied their request for an interview FWIW.

I really wanted LSU to give him a look. He's a great coach.

Apparently he gives a terrible interview though.

Oregon has no shot... Mullen is only leaving for an LSU, Georgia, Florida, Bama type gig.

I think he is rated about right. He is around the 15th highest paid coach in the country (Not totally sure where he stands with the most recent hirings and firings). His name gets mentioned for just about every big job opening, and I bet sometimes he is actually contacted about interviewing. He typically gets his team to perform up to expectations, but rarely exceeds expectations.

I don't see him as any type of coaching genious, but he does his job well. Except maybe for the recruiting part.

his binder game is dog shite, and honestly that's probably why he hasn't moved up from state yet

Only LSU promotes a position coach to head coach.

Mullen has Dak 2.0 and 3.0 waiting for him. Then the 5 star qb's will start lining up. Begging for an apprenticeship.

He's literally tried to bolt to every decent job the last few years. He'd take any power conference job if offered.

Wins a big game every year. Shits the bed every year. Beats his rival more often than not. Much like Tuberville who I thought was an excellent coach in his own right. I think Mullen is solid.

Mullin is a solid coach. You have to keep in mind where he is at also. If I were a state fan I want him locked down for a while.

I get mad at Mullen at times but he has our program in the best shape it has ever been in.

At Auburn Tuberville had some crazy-good record vs Top 10 teams. At least up until his last year or two.

This could be true . His name seems to be rumored for every average power 5 team . I don't think he leaves for another job. If other colleges wanted him then he would already be gone .
