His point was that just because one example (Gurley) came back as strong and fast, it doesn't necessarily mean Chubb will. He's saying a lot more players come back weaker/slower and that Gurley ir the exception more than the rule.

I see his point.

The only way Chubb isn't the starter is if the state of his recovery from injury prevents him from being the starter.

I tend to agree. Even still, if I was going to bet on anyone being an exception to the rule, it would be Chubb.
