No. He retired so he could extend his life.
Coaching at A&M would be a death sentence.

He's old.....find some young coordinator. Just dont pay him $5 million with an $11 million buyout.
That way you can part ways if they suck.

Could Les be Saban 2.0? Wins a natty at LSU like Saban, leaves for a while and comes back to coach at a rival school and isn't taken seriously?

No because Saban is the greatest coach in CFB history.

Careful what you wish for.
Yes, he will win the games he's supposed to, there was even a time when he'd win the games he wasn't supposed to.
But now? He'll get you a good defense and an offense that will make you want to put your head through a wall. You better hope his Plan A works in a game, bc there is no Plan B and definitely no Plan C. Because of that, you'll learn what it feels like to be down by only 7 points, yet you'll feel like you're at the bottom of a mountain looking up, because you know it'll be 3rd and 13, and a toss dive up the middle for a three yard gain is coming. You'll know what it feels to be down by 7, but it might as well be 40.
Better still, you'll know what it feels like to watch your team get out to a quick 14 point lead early, only to watch him let the foot off the gas and coast into run the clock out mode...coming out of halftime. Then you'll see what should have been an easy victory turn into a scrappy fight for your life 3 point win or loss that goes down to the last minute.
I wish nothing but good fortune for Les moving forward, but this game has passed him by, and his constant meddling in the offense left us perpetually hamstrung.
Y'all didn't listen to us for Chavis, so you may or may not now, but you can't say y'all weren't warned in either case.
