we've improved dramatically since the LSU game that being said we are weak in the middle of our defense and our passing offense is shaky due to low WR depth and inconsistency at QB. Still though, there have probably been worse 10-1 teams.

Great post!

You couldn't be more wrong about that. Get a fricking tattoo of it if you need to but you need to remember this formula:

AU=Good=SEC down as frick.

Reminds me of '05 Bama. Undefeated, then lost to LSU and AU.

If the other shoe drops on AU, it'll be like that.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha
This thread
1) should embarrass the remaining few sane LSU fans
2) prove that whenever AU has success it is a fluke, cheating or due to 1 player only

ONCE AGAIN PLEASE SEE MY SIG FOR ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS AND OR THOUGHTS

AU is back

LSU 07 was the worst 10-1 team...they proved it by losing to Arky.

LSU had a ton of injuries at the time of the Arky game. By the time the NC rolled around no team in America could have beaten the 07 Tigers.

I was about to mention this. Auburn this year is easily better than UF last year.

The fricking "worst" 10-1 SEC team in history?

Auburn can play football. Worst is not what

I'd call Auburn. Auburn is 10-1 for a damn good reason. THEY CAN PLAY! No excuses. They've played 7 SEC games losing once. Your reasoning is flawed and/or fantasy.

"Is Auburn the worst 10-1 SEC team in history?"

is the worst post I've ever read on this site.

Pretty much. It's especially funny coming from an LSU fan.

That said, when was the last time you saw a one loss or undefeated SEC team that didn't require some luck to get to that point?

2011. Alabama and LSU beat each other, but required no luck getting to 12-1 and 13-1, respectively. If memory serves, the closest game either team played was a 12-point victory, and the vast majority were three-score games or more. There was never any doubt - outside of the game in Tuscaloosa - as to either team winning any game in the fourth quarter.

and great luck to get to the kind of seasons they've had recently.

You're making the mistake of assuming all luck is equal. It isn't. There are certain kinds of "luck" that happen several times per year - teams expected to win end up losing, thereby benefitting teams ranked immediately behind them. That happened to LSU in 2007, and it happened to Alabama in 2011 (and arguably last year).

Then there are other kinds of luck, like when a team ends up winning a game on a fluke, deflected hail mary pass that, based on history, happens once per decade.

The former is "lucky," perhaps; but it's the type of luck that can reasonably be foreseen. The latter example is the type of luck that is remembered for decades after it happens because it was nothing short of a miracle.

Seasons play out as they play out. This "luck" crap about Bama backing into championship games is ridiculous. If this is the case, Okie St., Oregon, etc. were lucky Alabama lost to LSU & TAMU. LSU & Notre Dame were unlucky those teams lost after Bama did.
