I'm happy they're performing well now and that the athletic department is investing more in their programs. I know this is supposed to be an underhanded comment, but it really doesn't offend me.

Ironically, when Auburn football is good and all else sucks people like the OP ask why Auburn can't win in other sports? Man, Auburn does get under the skin of people.

Ironically while Bama has been a mainstay at the top of the SEC in softball for the last decade, many Auburn fans laughed and pointed that it was only softball. Now that they have found some success, softball is freaking awesome. I know this is how fandom works, but don't act like Auburn fans aren't just like the rest of us.

Do you have a link to that? I am not a part of that personally nor have I seen many Auburn fans saying it...in fact like it or not Auburn fans would preferred to compete in all sports and are frustrated by are inability to do it consistently. Personally, I am happy the Gymnastics team is coming on, the men's golf team made the NCAA finals, etc...I want more consistency out of Basketball (Men and Women) and Baseball. I want more consistency out of football.

Anybody who watches softball played at that level realizes how enjoyable it is and the speed at which moves is a wonderful reprieve from the snails pace that baseball has slowed to over the last 20 years.

I still can't get into softball for the life of me. I've been to a few games and they're fun, bht watching on TV is just boring. Only series I watched all the way through was when Bama beat OU for the national title.

I'm sure this differs for everyone else. If college golf had their own season coverage, I would watch that.

Personally my interest in the sport is gonna go way down once some of the players I know on the team graduate.

But I'll say this, as far as women's sports go, softball is pretty entertaining.
