In my opinion, Florida is a Top 5 job but McElwain is not a Top 5 coach. I think UF can do better, but I don't know that they can right now. Even for an elite program to hire a great coach the stars still have to align, and I don't see an obvious candidate out there.

As for his performance, his record and accomplishments are good through two seasons (given what he inherited from Muschamp) but in Year 3 something still just seems off about the program like it has since 2010. I don't think McElwain will ever have an awful year at UF, but I don't think he'll win the SEC during his tenure either. And if the early part of this season is any indication it looks like Kirby Smart may have already passed him in the East.

Exactly my point. Sometimes it’s better to just be happy with what you have.

It’s only a top 3 job in the State if Florida. Nowhere near top 5 in the country.

It’s a good job, but frankly top 3 vs top 5 vs top 10 doesn’t matter, what matters is when programs are on the market and who is available.

Agreed. This year he has 9 suspended players including an all sec WR and lost our best safety before the year. Now you can claim he is responsible for the actions off the field to a degree, but still. Harris was such a major loss. Our safeties miss an average of 38 percent of their tackles...Jesus.

What jobs are better? You could argue that several others may be on the same level, but I think Florida is about as good a job as any.

Look, we don’t give a shite when the Ags bitch about Rumlin, so let us wallow in our own loathing. Do yo know how boring it is to have the worst offense in the conference?

If coach Mac beats Georgia this year, he is worth his weight in shark oil. Fins down.

Sounds like he will be on the top of your list for LSU. If you had a good OC then things could be slot different. But he hires an OC that failed at Bama and Michigan. He took over a crap offense but he said in his first press's conference at UF that he could win with his dog at QB. Either the play calling sucks or we need to get his dog on the team.

I agree, our spoiled fans have run off 1 coach, given another a heart attack and their negativity is a cancer to the program.
