Is an LSU home game really that bad of an experience for an away team fan?

I can get tickets to the LSU/Auburn game this year for $100 a piece, but I seem to have trouble getting my Auburn buddies to tag along.

Are LSU fans really that bad? I've heard of the piss balloons, but I thought it was a myth.

They'll "Tiger Bait" you and then immediately give you cold beer and delicious food.

Compared to Florida fans, LSU fans are angels.

No, they aren't. I was "Tiger baited" or whatever you call it twice, and I was wearing maroon. First tent I walked by an LSU mom made us come in and eat. Stay away from Parade Grounds, take the razzing the right way, and you'll have a good time.

Lord

No, I went for my first time as a Razorback fan in 2009 on a college visit and decided I was going to LSU.

I got news for you, I've encountered some pretty bad Florida fans at LSU home games. Most stories you hear are the other fans bringing it upon themselves from having too much to drink. Act normal and you will probably have a decent time and be invited to many tailgates across campus.

Never had a problem at LSU. A little tiger baiting but it usually comes with beer and food.

Looks like it's your Auburn friends that are 'that bad'.

frick 'em, bring a chick, cruise around campus enjoying food and beverages, , and watch the plainsmen get destroyed. Without a dog in the fight, you'll be welcomed warmly.

Auburn fans are notorious for being thin-skinned. That's why they get the business.

I've been. Had a great time. We won so that helped. I have always enjoyed LSU fans when they visit too.

Going into these things you just have to realize that as a visitor you can't be a jackass even if some of the other teams' are. Just doesn't work out. Also, you have to realize that every team is going to have those fans that just can't help themeselves. And the majority of those probably didn't go to the actual University anyway so just smile and secretely feel sorry for them.

Do these things and you will have a good time!

Any sporting event you go to in America, you get what you want out of it. If you go in looking to get drunk and fight with the locals yeah, you're gonna have a bad time. If you have thick skin, can take some good natured ribbing, can intelligently talk about the game, and are just a likeable person in general, you're gonna be fine.

One of my best away experiences (dealing with fans-wise) was at LSU. Also the aboslute worst, but I try to give them a pass on that one.

They really aren't bad and are like any other passionate fan base. As long as you don't start a bunch of shite or act like a douche you will be fine. And I tailgated on the parade grounds where some are saying to stay away
