Off the field issues aside is he first round talent?

he wasn't even close to a 1st round grade before the off-field incident. he was a late round guy

AJ has great instincts as a LB, but he doesn't have half the athleticism that Willis did/does

True. He's pretty damn athletic though. He's not lacking for speed. At least not that I can see. I've only watched Tennessee play a few times this year.

I think that's his biggest knock at this point. He can tackle and wrap up but can get exposed when forced to go sideline to sideline.

No, he isn't a first rounder. I wouldn't be surprised to see a team like the patriots take him in the 3rd/4th round.

He never was. Not a single draft board this season had him anywhere near the 1st round. He's been an outstanding college player, but he is not a 1st round talent. He could end up being great in the NFL but he was never getting picked in the 1st round.

Mid-round. Doesn't have great foot speed. He will be a very good MLB in a 3-4 though imo.

poor mans brandon spikes at best he'll be a good run stopper in the league who's good for a big hit here and there

No, 3rd-4th rounder. Might see a team in the late 2nd reach if they really need an ILB and he's the best still on the board.
