Ole Miss isn't ever going to be a national contender more than a fluke season every now and then, people just fell in love with idea of the past coming back.
It was the southern version if how the media falls in love with Notre Dame or whatever Big 10 team wins it's first 8 games.

A 10-1 #4 ranked State team let us beat them by two touchdowns just so we could get our hopes up. Damn them. This is their fault. Merlins knew this would happen all along
