Mitch Gaspard has had 1 winning season in SEC play : he went 15-14 (due to a rain out) in 2014.

2010 : 15-15 (Super Regional)
2011 : 14-16 (Regional)
2012 : 9-21
2013 : 14-15 (Regional)
2014 : 15-14 (Regional)
2015 : 12-18

This year's Alabama team is picked to finish 7th out of 7 in the West.

Jim Wells had 1 non-winning season in his last 5, generally considered at the time to be a period in which he was asleep at the wheel and the program was running on auto-pilot (15-15 in 2007).

2005 : 17-13 (Regional)
2006 : 20-10 (SEC Champions, Super Regional)
2007 : 15-15
2008 : 16-14 (Regional)
2009 : 18-11 (Regional)

Cohen has had 3 winning seasons:

2009: 9-20
2010: 6-24
2011: 14-16
2012: 16-14
2013: 16-14
2014: 18-12
2015: 8-22

For a .418 average while simultaneously bringing in top 10 recruiting classes

Pretty similar resumes outside of the CWS Runner-Up in 2013 for State. I thought Cohen had gotten things rolling after 2013 and 2014, but then last year was just a total clunker.

So how many national championships is Bama claiming during the Mitch Gaspard era?

Doesn't matter, Gaspard will get another year because of the stadium unless he turns in another 21-34 type season. We will probably go 34-30, finish somewhere around 14-16 in the league, sneak into a regional as a 3 seed and lose in 2 days. Then we will start all over against the same way next year.

Waiting for the new stadium to be completed? Then with brand new facilities, we should be able to attract a good coach.

Personally I think we could have attracted a better coach the first time around when we hired Gaspard and again at any point during his tenure. He was the cheap, easy option and we let Wells hand-pick him.

Not sure at what point in his coaching career at bama that he said this, but Wells, being a former Skip protégé' told several people here in B.R. that bama baseball would never get much better till the athletic administration showed some interest in it. FWIW.

Good grief,
these things don't matter one friggin bit. No stadium, no interest, no knowledge, BAMA plays with 11.7 schollies TOTAL..TOTAL.. there is no way to compete with teams that have 35 players on full schollie. I do not understand what is so hard to understand. Mitch Gaspard, Mitch Kupchak, Mitch Gaylord, Bobby Cox or Tommy Lasorda couldnt win with those odds against them. Bring in all the coaches you want, all the stadiums you want. it aint gonna matter. geez, people want you to get blood out of a turnip. It aint happenin at Bama, AU, state or Ole miss like it is right now.
