Men's Baseball will catch up with Women's basketball soon, but it may take awhile to catch up with Men's Hockey LINK

BTW, I'm jealous of you living there. I was there for two years. I miss it sometimes.

If there were more hockey teams they would be way below baseball...I think there are over 300 colleges playing baseball.

Schools usually lose money in the bottom 20 sports.

Legit POS article. Say nothing about how dept of education gathered data or .

And an Alabama fan looking for a 2016 article to bash a sport his team sucks at. Typical.

Equestrian seventh? What am I missing here. Back in my days at NLU we had a rodeo team but we sure as hell didn't make any money when sponsoring a rodeo.

I care about college baseball and hate that we suck at it, but you're lying to yourself if you think it's a major sport.

Why do y'all care so much what other people consider to be a major sport or not?

I really don't understand. Some people like college baseball. Some don't.

Same. Such an intense and physical sport. Glad Bham is getting their minor league team back.

I would think there are not very many schools that have an ice hockey team, but the ones that do are in areas there is a high interest.

More a reflection of those huge television contracts for football and basketball rather than actual fan support or interest.

I couldn't care less what people like. I like college gymnastics, but I'd rightfully get ridiculed on here if I tried to say there was a big 3 sports of football, basketball, and gymnastics. Just because I care about college baseball, I don't pretend it carries anywhere near the weight of basketball or football.

Is there a chart like this comparing actual cost per sport? We all know cost for majority of them is high than revenue, so would be interesting to see. Especially when you have the "pay players" advocates that don't see why we can't just look at the high revenue sports for justification.

I would like to see lacrosse more in the southern schools. A lot of them have club teams but you hardly see any varsity teams unless you look at the DII level

I played lacrosse in high school and loved it. Would love to see it become more popular as well
