Headed to the game in Athens this weekend and would like to know where to tailgate, park, and other helpful info you can provide.

hata posted an informative thread on bama's board, I'd check that out.

Also, parking is going to be a cluster becuase of the weather. A lot of the overflow lots on east campus are being shut down because of all the rain expected. Are you coming with bama folks? Clarke Central HS on baxter is where the visitor RVs typically park (there, or in a few small lots along like oconee street.

Honestly your best bet would be to just drive around the main roads on campus and find a parking lot and pay..probably run you about $40.

Please be aware that what you're going to see this wknd isn't liek a typical big UGA game. I hav a feeling the rain is going to frick a lot of things up.

Yea I have a Bama friend from Baton Rouge coming to Augusta tomorrow and we are driving over there on Saturday and driving back after the game. It's pretty cloudy weather in Augusta and been pouring all week.

Mrs. Vox and I usually park at the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse or the 125 W. Washington St. parking decks. Either will run you about $25. For the Barn-burning last year, we got into the Washington St. deck about noon, and for USCjr this year, we got into the courthouse deck at around 2pm for a 3:30 kick. The caveat for the parking decks is that the traffic is backed up trying to get out. Took us half an hour to get down from the top of the courthouse deck, two weeks ago.

I'd suggest hitting one of the bars and letting things blow over. Especially since you're likely to be all bummed out at losing another SEC game.

Don't go to fricking Jimbo's on Baxter. I know that much. That bastard didn't up until after 8 for us to get beer. What are we? Puritans?

I appreciate the information. And I won't be bummed out when Bama loses. I'll have a good ole time hassling my buddy though. Thank you guys.

Varsity is pretty good to eat at, and there is a kick arse Burger Joint called Grindhouse.

This. I know there are multiple locations, but Taqueria Tsunami is great, too.

My buddy got them for as cheap as 150. If it's bad weather I bet there will be some in Athens for close to face value.

It's going to be 2 inches of rain and in the upper 50s. Quite frankly, I'd just stay home if you don't have tickets. What a shitty day for a big game

If it were just rain in the 70s or 80s, I'd get drunker than drunk in that shite all day.

But you start dipping into the 50s and I'm pussying out.

ETA: Note that I don't have a ticket to the game. I've endured far, far worse conditions for far worse UGA squads in Sanford (and in Jacksonville).
