I've had a crush on South Carolina because of their great pitching. Ive had them as the SEC's only national seed for the past three weeks. My Bulldogs went into Columbia and won the series - the only other time that happened was 1998. It has led to a dramatic change of heart. Not only is South Carolina not in my national seeds, they are on the outside of regional hosts.

Clemson has a tough schedule down the stretch. It will be tough for them to hold onto a national seed

They're a basketball school now anyways

That 9th inning loss to Texas Tech really stings for LSU. Would have probably had a sweep of the big 10 champ (Maryland) and the a win over Texas Tech to highlight its non-conference resume

A&M is most certainly in the hunt for a regional host.

We won't get out of our regional wherever it may be, pitching is way too suspect.

Arkansas might land a national seed but if I had to guess I think LSU gets that seed and we land a regional seed. Even if we win the regular season title LSU is higher ranked and has a series win over us.

If Arkansas wins the SEC, they'll be a national seed. The question the becomes, is the SEC strong enough this season to get two national seeds. At this point, likely not.
LSU would have to fend off Kentucky, Auburn, State, and Florida to get the second national seed. LSU has lost two league series in the first half of conference play. While they may be ranked higher in polls, there are 3 teams higher than them in the RPI. Rankings themselves, really don't mean anything when talking about national seeding.

The way weve been playing of late we dont deserve to make the tourney

those last 3 series will either make or break the season in terms of regional play.

@ OM
vs Ark

I still think we run outta gas down the stretch unless pitching continues to improve

I just can't see Auburn falling apart with the starting pitching we have, assuming all stay healthy.
Currently Mize and keegan Thompson rank 1/2 in ERA in the SEC and Davis Daniels (our #3) is starting to come into his own. I think Auburn lands a regional host bid.

I think 2 SEC teams will get hot last half and get National seeds. Hoping one is LSU of course, but there are 7 teams that could still do it.

It's shaping up to be an unusual year if things don't change dramatically down the stretch (more West Coast teams as national seeds, and Florida being under represented, for starters).

Yes, 2017 is shaping up to be a VERY unusual year of college baseball.
