I'll admit to having no direct connection to Ole Miss as a fan or rival fan, but like some of you I am fascinated by how egregious their behavior has been.
Pete Thamel has an article up now with a fairly unsensational take on the situation.
Ole Miss in deep doodoo
Here is the updated penatly matrix for violations from the NCAA
With the prior violations of academic fraud going back to Coach Nutt, as well as the improper benefits both new and old, how is this going to shake out?
Is there a precedent other than SMU for the NCAA giving a school more than two or three years of post season bans, or scholarship reductions that exceed what they can theoretically sign in a year?
The math on the volume of level 1's and the lesser penalties, and the appropriate punishment per the matrix is kind of ridiculous.
Any amateur experts have an opinion.

This will be the first big test of new penalty matrix.
The bigger point is in the past we had minor and major violations, and now we have level 1-4. Major violations back then would be akin to level 1 or 2 violations. What is scary is that there is 11 level 1 violations or to put it in the old verbiage 11 major violations. That is unheard of.
That is not something that will go away easily

Two year post season ban
Financial penalty of $5000 +5% AD revenue
Scholarship reduction by 50%
Recruiting visits reduced by 50%
5 year probation
...just a guess
